Say come draft day, Adam Morrison drops to our lap. Not taking into account who else remains for the taking, should we grab Morrison?
He mirrors his game after Bird's, and he's a terrific scorer (not a pure shooter, but the guy can score in many different ways). He's more athletic and agile than most people think, and he's quicker than most think he is. He's a smart player who has court savvy and he plays hard all the time. He's roughly 6'7" - 6'8" with solid coordination. Not bulky, nor skinny. Strength wise, he has enough right now to be able to compete in the NBA.
But in his way are Pierce, Ricky, Tony, Gomes, Reed, and Gerald Green. We have so many good (or potentially good) wing players that it'll just add more congestion to an already crowded position.
But he's an incredible player who I think could fit in very well with our team concept of playing smart + ball movement + being able to knock down jumpers.

Justin Reed is definitely gone if Morrison gets drafted. Who knows maybe even Tony also. Thats a perfect time to put together a trade package to get a real impact player. Including TA and Reed and maybe someone else like Orien.

I like Morrison, but can he carry a team? Ex: Danny Manning.

grabbing morrison is a no brainer. i expect some sort of a trade invloving some of our wing players during this season anyway. most likely it will involve reed and allen. and the development of gg determines much as well

No, I don't think he's a guy you can expect to carry a team, RR. But we'll never ask him to do this anyways. Our game is all about team involvement and this is part of Morrison's strengths.
I also think that Morrison is the type of guy Ainge and Rivers will want--and that may mean getting rid of one, or two, of our wing players to make room for him. I doubt that Tony Allen goes because he's right up there with Pierce and Ricky in terms of what skills he offers on the court. Gomes is a "glue" type player who's value is in the little things he does for us. Justin Reed is a defensive stopper and energy player. One of these 2 might be the one out of the running, depending on which one has more trade value.

Justin Reed, Scala, Blount and Orien will be gone I think if they do make any moves to make room for other important guys on our team + an Adam Morrison IF he slips to Boston somehow.

Adam Morrison= jim morrison You forgot Van Morrison too. Each Morrison is a legend in his own field so who knows with this 1. I mean you also forgot Tommy Morrison. The former boxing champion. Will Adam be another Morrison who does great in his own field?

Morrison had a solid game tonight vs. Maryland. Scored 25 pts on 10 - 17 shooting from the field (but only 4 - 7 from the free throw line), pulled down 9 rebounds, stole two passes, and had a blocked shot.
Man, if Morrison is there when we pick, if I'm Ainge, my head would be spinning with confusion. I woudn't know what to do. We already have so many wing players that we don't know what to do with some of 'em. Are we going to add another one?

I thought Morrison had an incredible game the night before. Well, he out did himself tonight. Scored 43 pts on 50% shooting, 7 boards, and 4 assists (in 3 OT periods).
I'm telling you, this guy would be a terrific fit in our team's offense. But then again, we are trying to be a better defensive team (well, at least that's what I'm hoping we are aiming to become) and Morrison is not the first guy you think of when looking for defensive help.

It was a real nice game. He might need to trim up, if he were to play for the Spankies... lol
