Yeah, that would have to mean that the Hawks think Ukic has a better future than Paul. Or maybe a combination of Ukic and Pierce is what they're trying to obtain for the 3rd pick (and possibly Al Harrington?).
There's a good chance that we pull off a draft day trade. Ainge just seems to be interested in getting a high pick.

I would think if I were a team like the Hawks and the draft was full of depth quality but not star quality unless I was married to a certain player it might be a great draft to trade down. If I were the Hawks and DA called me the first thing I'd say is "let's talk about Al J" and if I were DA I'd hang up the phone or say "Ok. I'll give you Al j for your next 4 first round draft picks unprotected. And maybe some 2nd rounders thrown in. And some cash. And pizza, and since you live in Atlanta some coca cola."

AJ is one of the few players on this team that is untouchable. P2 lost that tag this year.
If I am the Hawks, I trade down to a team that has multiple first round selections, and try to finagle a deal.

Might be time for DA to pull a Jimmy Johnson. He once traded down with his first-round choice for a lower first-round choice and maybe a second. Then he traded THAT first-round choice for still another. Don't remember the details---might have been even the following year. But he turned one choice into 3-4 others.

Ferbo, if thre is a draft to trade down and pick up multiple picks, this is the draft to do it.
Oddly enough, when I read your post about Jimmy Johnson, I kept on thinking of the infamous "Hershel Walker" deal. ;D

The bobcats can deal 5 and 13 or brezec and the 5th for Atlantas 2 meaning they could get AB. I see Charlotte building a team like Okafor, Bogut and Felton with pick 13 if Brezec goes with the 5th or if the 13th is dealt, it still looks good. For atlanta, getting 5 and 13 would be really good I would think.

The Lord giveth, and the Lord taketh away!
Even with Jimmy.

As good a place as any to run out an idea:
Conventional wisdom has been that if you draft a Euro based on potential, and know he isn't ready, let him stay in Euro for awhile.
Question; will this still apply, with the arrangement with the NBDL? Why wouldn't you sign him and put him there, under the watchful eye of your own people? Playing more games?

The only problem- Two teams put their players together, to make one NBADL team. Which team picks the style of play?
