I've seen that Best Damn Sports Show Period with Payton on it, and IMO, he basically said that because he's trying to say the politically right thing. His agent is trying to negotiate the most lucrative contract he can get (most likely the last one he'll get), so saying that Boston isn't at the top of his list is killing off one of his bargaining chips.
I don't know if Phoenix or Sacramento will pick him up, but between the two, I'd think Phoenix would like to take him, being that they sorely lacked a stable PG on the court when Nash was taking a breather. But in any case, I don't think Payton is returning unless he's taking a very short and very cheap contract.

I'm not nearly as anxious to move Banks as some of you. He made progress last year---when he received some coaching. Not that clear that West is really a PG. Can't believe an 18-year old from Europe is neaerly as far along as a guy who played 4 years in college like Banks.
I think we're looking at an "Atkins or better" scenario. Well could be a guy hwo isn't the starter.

i agree that banks had quite a progress last year. i think he´s gonna be better than billups. and we all know that trading away billups was a mistake

i think he´s gonna be better than billups. WOW! ! ! Not sure that I would go that far. I tend to believe he has the make up to be one of the best PG comming off the bench as a spark plug. Maybe even a solid starter on a .500 team.

The 3rd pick rumors arent closed yet BTW. I also heard along with the 3rd pick, Damon Stoudamire can come with it so theres your veteran pg. I'd still prefer NVE though this way it gives more flexibility. Who knows. Danny knows more than us.
