Gerald Green isn't going very far. Although his lack of basketball IQ and bad attitude give him absolutely no chance of ever becoming a superstar, his talent alone could make him a potential all star someday. Corey Maggette would be the easiest comparison. Maggette has no basketball IQ and has never listened to anyone, yet he has panned out to be a pretty good player. Speaking of which, why arent the clippers knocking at his door??? This is the second coming of Corey Maggette!!! Which means lots of 20+ point games and even more sub 30 win seasons!!!

Maggette has a pretty solid b-ball IQ. He is basically a poor man's paul pierce with more athleticism and less of a 3pt shot. I think a better basketball comparison would be Ricky Davis.

Still wish DA could get him back. if he didn't listen, KG would slap the crap out of him in a way that would be highly teachable.

Gerald's problem was that in High School, his athleticism was so superior, he never learned the game the right way. He would be a decent fit on this team now because he could learn from a true pro like Ray Allen.

kofanis,
why would you say that maggette has a good basketball iq? Just curious as to your reasoning. Maggette is an athletic freak who really just scores....Ricky Davis is also a good comparison but Maggette's IQ has been assumed low for a long time...thats not only my opinion but what I've heard from many people over the years since he was at Duke, and even before that at Fenwick.

I didn't say it was good I said it was solid. When he came into the league he was really athletic, and just used it to try and dunk on everyone. Over the last few years he has learned the game and has been really productive, he isnt a lockdown defender but he is pretty good on d. And all around he is a good 2nd and an amazing 3rd option.

You know those stupid things people say where they say the whole pro vs joe thing like "I could do this better than this guy"? Well I think I could play better defense than GG? Why? Cause I'd actually try to. GG can jump high. That was his skill. That's it. His shooting was mediocre. He wasn't a great passer. And he was probably the single worst defender in the history of the league. He made Antoine look like ALL NBA Defensive team. I never saw a more deer in the headlights player in the NBA. He makes Joe Forte look like an NBA player and that's hard to do

He seems like a nice kid.
Might be best suited as a Globe Trotter...

There are several WNBA players I'd rather have on the team

I don't think he could learn their complex defensive schemes Way funny E... They don't play a weak zone? Kinda where the weak D player fills the bucket with paper-shreds or a cup of water in the bucket? He could mix in some kool-aid mix with his half-finger, for the kids.

I would give Sue Bird a tryout. Give here my number when she needs a real man. I might trot about her globe. I like her game...

He'd be too busy thinking of what his next dunk should be
