These 2 high school kids have really impressed me. I took a look at the McD's game again and this time, took my focus away from Gerald Green. The commentator said that Webster is a Pierce clone, but I'd say he's more like a Michael Finley clone. But like both of them, he has a strong upperbody, but not Anthony Mason-like. Webster is more explosive and shiftier than Pierce and gets a lot of elevation on his jumper, like Finley. I really like how he's around the ball a lot. When the ball is up in the air, or loose on the ground, Webster was there. When there were guys fighting for a rebound in the paint, he was there. Just like Big Al, Webster is always around the action.
The other high school guard I was impressed with is Mario Chalmers. He completely took over the game at one point, doing it on the offensive end, defensive end, etc. The West was making a big time comeback and the momentum was quickly shifting, and leading the way was Chalmers. He converted a quick layup, then stole the ball on the inbound. His momentum led him to the sideline, where he quickly gathered himself and hit a huge three pointer. And he was hitting three's and driving to the basket a lot. He's got determination running in his blood, and he plays with a lot of energy and excitement.
Webster is likely a first rounder, possibly a lottery pick. Chalmers will probably head to college (forgot where he signed with).
Gerald Green was the star of the show, but Chalmers was right in back of him. Webster had a quieter night, but he's certainly looking like a good one.

Gee, that one's sounding pretty good. CF brought one up from another site that was Pierce and Banks for Livingston, Maggette, and Kaman. Webster could be a better fit than Tony Allen in our starting rotation. Not only is he a slasher, but he's also taller (6'6" compared to 6'4") and equiped with a jumper. After evaluating Allen over the course of a year, IMO, he's better suited as a defensive presence off the bench, who provides us energy and slashing. Webster's game could mesh well in the starting unit.

Haven't seen Webster's profile on draftcity, but you're making me like him, dmatts. He does sound like a better fit at the starting SG spot than TA. You're right, TNT would make a better bench player than he would a starter. With Banks and Allen subbing in first for West and Webster, we'd have SHUT-DOWN D in the backcourt.

Toss in Reed and we have some D, hustle and energy to hold up to many teams' starters.

Derren, how did Bynum the 7'0 center look?
Webster, I would take a gamble on w/ our first rounder, but I doubt he is there when we pick

Gee, my Jedi mind trick is working on you guys ;D Webster is a fantastic athlete. He's very much like Michael Finley in the way he moves, the way he operates on the court, the way he jumps, the way he elevates on his jumper, etc. If we can draft him, once Doc gets him to play the way we need him to play in our scheme, he's going to be an incredible contributor.
RR, as for Bynum, he is too soft for me. I like big guys to be bangers, especially if they have the body and size to be one. Bynum is a legit 7 footer but he doesn't look like he has the type of toughness we need. I sort of like that Hendrix kid more, just because his attitude seemed to be tougher. But he does have a big body, extremely long arms and limbs, and is quite nimble on his feet. He didn't get much of an opportunity to show his post offense in the McD's game, so I can't really comment too much about him. From a physical standpoint, he's impressive. But from a mental aspect (as far as toughness is concerned), I'm not interested.

You are a man after my own heart, Eddie. I want to grab Simien too. I'm also a huge fan of Fransisco Garcia. I have a strong feeling he can be this year's Josh Howard (who incidentally is another solid player coming out of college who didn't get any love from the scouts).

Webster hmmm. Can't say me myself has heard of him. Seems like a talent. May be out of our reach. I have a feeling Simien won't be our pick. I can see it being Garcia. Garcia I suppose is like Josh Howard.

Actually according to Eric Pincus, Lakers beat writer for Hoopsworld.com, he talked to an executive VP of the Clippers about the possibility of trading Magette. The Clips exec said something to the tune of "why would we trade Maggette if we have cap room to sign a player?" Heisler, according to Pincus, may just be "throwing crap against the wall to see what sticks." But i would love for that deal to happen!

Joe!!! What's going on, bro? Where in the world have you been? Great to hear from you again, and I hope you are here to stay this time. You gotta fill us in with the rumors and stuff you seem to dig up all the time.
Right now, what I really want from the Clippers is Shaun Livingston. I could careless about getting Maggette.

Why not get Livingston with Maggette and Kaman? Maggette is another scorer, a proven one at that. Id make the deal for him then Livingston being the 2nd reason.

Been busy... We'll be inviting my fellow group members from Celtics Philippines to join here as well... grgonz is a part of the group... I may not be chiming in regularly but your draft corner is something I check most of my surfing time.. Have you set - up your draft board?
If we want Livingston, the Clippers will tell us, "So, about Al Jefferson...."

If there is anyone on our team who is untouchable, its Big Al. Not Pierce, not Walker.... its Jefferson.
Joe, you don't think the Clippers will trade Livingston for Pierce? Not straight up, of course.
