Cant blame this one defense. This was all stupid offensive mistakes and horrible decision making. I hate it when we become a jump shooting team. From my perspective I think the problems are, the team is out of sync, like CF said. KG and Paul and Ray are guilty of jumpshooting from minute 1. We forgot how to box out and get position for rebounds. The time differential (10:30 tipoff). And we just couldnt hit the broadside of a barn. It was an off shooting night. For some reason we were playing a better inside game without KG and Perk and it was more intense like they had an urgency to prove they could win without them and we did. Like RunRondo said, its something we will have to put out of our minds and move on. We did some good things and limited the Suns to under 90 points. We forced them into over 20 turnovers and our defense and steals were very good.

well rebounds are usually gotten by effort and hustle and like i've said about this west coast trip, everyone is trying their hardest while the Celtics look a little lollygaggish...This game looked like a game for Garnett to get his offense and hold on the offense back but that messed up everyone else's rhythm(Garnett scored the first 4 points and got lobs/jumpers!? on every possession in the beginning) and then we just didn't hit shots...We just need to get back to running plays through KG and Rondo and knocking shots like we did before...Don't forget, we crushed the Nuggets and Golden State before and i hope we do the same to the Suns when we face them @ home...

I am thinking the Celtics are just tired from being on the road. 38% from the field, and outrebounded heavily.

What puzzles me the most is that as we were getting out rebounded by a large margin, our second best rebounder was sitting on the bench. Leon has been our first big off the bench and last night he was the last. He finally got into the game and immediately pulled down 2 rebounds and scored 2 points inside and Doc played him only 4 minutes. This is what worries me about Doc in the playoffs. His substitutions and decision making sometimes really puzzle me. Leon should have gotten more minutes last night.

Yeah that kind of puzzled me as well. Baby was not playing well in there this game. The thing is people were clammoring that baby should have been in last game, and maybe doc tried to get Davis in the game early this game and Powe sat. When it should have been the other way around each of the last two games. I know what you mean but it's not as easy as it sounds. Had Powe played Davis might have sat and we might have been wondering why Davis wasn't in the game, although playing powe this game and davis the last game was the right move. With Garnett and Perk back our rotation and minutes are limited again and we need to find the right balance again.

What I question the most is when Powe was put in, he played very well and immediately got 2 rebounds in just 4 minutes playing time. He did nothing negative to warrant pulling him, so why take him back out when he provided what the team very sorely needed at the time.

Y With Garnett and Perk back our rotation and minutes are limited again and we need to find the right balance again. Exactly But i believed Doc choose Baby cause he wanted someone with quick feet to guard Amare or another of their fast big men and he thought Powe wouldn't be able to guard him against their agilities since Powe is better defensively on the post rather than the jumpshots and quickness..But i didn't understand why he pulled Powe so quick after he was just warming up and showing us some good stuff either FL, so i'm a bit lost there

I guess to bring GArnett back in and keep Posey in the game. I was thinking more along the lines that when Davis wa sin there running around like a chicken with his head cut off, Doc should have pulled him and gotten Powe in the game earlier to make his impact.
RunRondo has a point that davis had the quicker feet and they needed someone to say with Stoudamire. Problem was even though Davis was running around like a pinball machine he was still getting beaten pretty bad.

I had more problems with our spacing this game. Our rotations and spacing was just out of whack. Our spacing on teh break was terrible. WE also weren't patient offensively and we were rushing things and running into each other at times instead of taking our time and getting a good shot. We weren't moving the ball and we were making terrible passes as well. I also thought even though we were aggressive defensively we were gambling too muhc and weren't just manning up and helping out and closing the lane like we've been doing in the past.

Yeah, i think Doc is just a bit rusty with his substitutions since now he actually has to make more decisions and cut at least one player off a game and he was getting used to a shorter roster..Before without Garnett and Perk, we all knew he had to play pretty much everybody and we had a shorter range of guys to play..Now, Doc's in a bit of a pickle since we have soooo many guys that can do the many different things..I think Doc didn't pull Baby cause he was afraid to hurt his confidence??...But with all things said, after this game i think Doc will realize we have to run more offense through Garnett in the post cause yesterday we were giving the ball to Garnett too close to the 3 point line...
Baby showed he's pretty careless with his body though..He should know by now that when he bumps into somebody he'll get a foul and he always does bump into them...AND why does Perk always set bad screens? Same with Baby...Setting a Screen is not hard, just don't move and keep your arms still but these guys are in a rush to set the screen and get out of there...

Yeah we were doing a lot of just stupid things. Our inexperience really showed this game. FL is right that Doc needs to find the right mix. We need to settle things down a bit again. We just seemed out of whack to me this game. This is why I think Runrondo is right that we need to practice and go back to the drawing board a bit.

WE had the allstar break but 4 of our main players and Doc were there so we weren't really able to do anything over the break.

Do you guys think our offense has become predictable? I mean, i know i see myself guessing most of the time what we're doing/what's going to happen and i think teams are really starting to plan for us so maybe we need to add a couple new tricks..Seems like Doc has kept the offense a little too basic, though it was working for most of the year..players also have stopped moving without the ball for some reason...I think this just all connects with the fact that we need to regroup and have some practices...

So much for having a fairly officiated game. Once again we were on the short end of the refs whistles. If we get screwed against the Blazers we may as well not even finish the road trip.

Garnett I dont think is ready to play. Other than that, Powe needs more time on the court.
