If we sign Cassell it will be more of a joke than anything about how Cassell nearly took Rondo's head off. I just am loving Rondo's game right now and we don't really need a pg who plays more than 10-15 mpg, and Cassell is going to play more than that. We'll probably end up seeing some situations where we have cassell and rondo both in the game at the same time. House and TA probably wont play as much which is unfortunate.

I think it will definitely be awkward if we sign him..I mean, he obviously tried to hurt Rondo on that play because he was getting owned pretty badly..I guess it shows he's emotional but i really can't forgive a guy that goes and takes swats at one of my favorite players who is really showing his stuff lately though i'm sure Cassel doesn't have anything against Rondo, just that he was getting burned..Maybe Doc should try Pruitt slowly a bit to see if can give us something that we need this year, if not then it can't hurt..But without Garnett..Rondo TAKES a major role in the offense which he should ALWAYS have no matter who's playing...

Q at the half -
I'm worried about Sexy Scottish. He must still be passed out from Sunday's Super Bowl (congrats to his Gints). He should be ranting and raving over these crooked officials. Perkins has been raped time and again under the boards and no fouls on the big men. Chris Kaman should be chowing down at Legals with Sam Cassall because he has already committed eight fouls and been called for just two of those.
The FT disparity is a disgrace.
I still want Sam Cassall here for the stretch drive and the 'offs.
Rondo played brilliant basketball in the 1st half. Pierce and R.Allen have been fairly quite.
The Celtics are trying not to let the Clippers hang around tonight. One good 3rd qtr run should put this game away.

If we get someone Cassell seems to be the guy. I don't think it makes a difference. Players play hard and CAssell is a hard nosed player and a good player. There is no immediate need and we can wait for a buyout if need be. It's more a matter of if we can get him for nothing and whether or not we think Pruitt would be ready come playoff time.

Rondo is going to be a triple double waiting to happen if he keeps playing like this.

If Tony could handle the ball better he could play the backup point and we could throw out a lineup exactly like the one we have right now which is doing great..But problem is, Tony is very inconsistent and sometimes his handling is extremely poor..But when he's hot he's hot...This lineup is pulling away...
Pg- Tony Sg- House Sf- Posey Pf- Baby C- Powe

Good win. Glad Doc is finally playing Powe.

Q's post game wrap up - The Celtics bench put the game away in the 4th qtr as Doc put in BBD, Powe, Posey, House, and TA and they controlled things in the 4th qtr with energy and hustle at both ends of the floor. Clippers got nothing going as the 10 point lead was rebuilt and only a belated comeback brought out Pierce and RA in the last minute to close things out. Having this new found depth will help rest the veterans and not rush KG back to the court.
On a side note, I still recommend getting Sam Cassell for the playoffs for insurance at PG. God forbid if we lose Rondo for any length of time, the C's would have issues real quick.

We have Rondo and we are fine with TA, Ray, House, and Pruitt splitting the backup duties for the most part. We are still talking abut 10 minutes a game where all the guy has to do is dribble the ball up the court. House did a real nice job tonigth when he was playing pg. Hit some big shots from the pg spot. Thats all we need from him and he does a decent job passing the ball and getting the team into their offense. House is still our best backup pg. I honestly still dont see where CAssell is that big an upgrade over him.

CF00 I agree that the back up by committee with House, Tony, Ray and Pruitt backing up Rondo during the regular season is working ok. But if Rondo is out we are in trouble. None of those guys is a starting PG. Also, in the playoffs, the pressure defense on the PG increases and that will be a problem as pressure on any of those guys usually leads to a turnover.
