Rondo has to keep his cool and not let the defense rattle him. Keys to the Game Keep their Composure. In the first matchup between these two teams, the Celtics lost their composure when Detroit put pressure on them. The Celtics have to handle the Pistons' pressure while putting defensive pressure on the Pistons at the other end. Point Guard Play. The play of our point guards will be crucial against Billups and Hunter on the Pistons. Bench Play. The Celtics got only 5 points and 7 rebounds off the bench in the last game. The bench has got to contribute more in order for the Celtics to beat the premier teams like the Pistons. Game Notes: The Pistons have won their last 11 games and are one of the hottest teams in the league. Since beating the Celtics in the Garden, they have moved ahead of the Celtics in the rankings. One of the few question marks left for the Celtics is whether they can beat the Pistons and a win here would answer it quite nicely. The Pistons are the Celtics major rival for the East. They are the only 2 teams with at least 10 home wins and 10 road wins. The Pistons remain the only one of the three teams that beat us that the Celtics haven't beaten. Both teams are playing in back to back games and travelling to get to the game as the Pistons play in Toronto the previous night. |

Should be a good contest. The Celtics have to focus on Billups, and Detroit's outside shooting.

Round 2..Let's hope Rondo doesn't get into foul trouble and the Pistons don't light us up from beyond the arc..Time for Ray Ray to unleash it all in this game since he had a poor game yesterday..

Big test. We are dominating almost every team we play, but we still have to play some serious contenders like San Antonio, Phoenix or Dallas. The Pistons will probably be our Eastearn Finals opponents, so we must mark our territory. Our excelent regular season record won't help us much in a playoffs series...

Picking up with 6:58 left in the first and Celtics up 10-9. Rondo has a bandage over his eye so it is already a physical game. Celtics inbound and PP misses. Perk gets the rebound and gets it to Rondo who misses a layup. Pistons rebound and score at the other end. Celtics miss and Piston's rebound. Alley oop to Prince for a dunk. Rondo misses the jumper on the baseline. Perk tips the rebound but Wallace is there to grab it. Perk called for a foul and Pistons inbound with 14 on the SC. Pistons called for a 24 second violation. Posey misses a jumper. Prince rebounds. Wallace spins around Perk and lays it in. Pistons defense is taking the Celtics out of their game. Finally they call a foul on Hamilton who was harassing Tony all the way up the floor. From what Tommy is saying they are letting the pistons get away with a lot of contact and calling every little bump on the Celtics. Time out with Pistons up 15-10 and 2:42 left in the 1st.

Celtics inbound on the side with 14 on the SC. jumper is short and Pistons rebound. WAllace lays it in. Perk mises a jumper in the paint. Pistons rebound. Posey called for a foul. Pistons inbound on the side. Wallace hits a 3 and Pistons are up 20-10. Celtics look totally out of sync. Tony takes it to the hoop and misses Celtics get the rebound and Tony hits a jumper as the SC goes off. Maxiell hits a jumper. Tony misses a jumper and Pistons rebound. There were 4 pistons on the boards that time and no Celtics inside. Pistons miss at the buzzer. They put 1.1 on the clock and Celtics inbound in the back court. Posey's half court heave at the buzzer is no good. Score at the end of 1 is Pistons 22 and Celtics 12.

Celtics shot 26% in the first quarter. They let the Pistons defense totally take them out of their game. Pollard, House, Davis, Tony and PP on the floor to start the second. Pollard called for a foul and Maxiell hits both FTs. House hits a jumper from the FT line. Stucky misses and gets the rebound. Pollard blocks his put back and Celtics rebound. Celtics turn it over. Tony with good defense forces the turnover. PP takes it right down the lane and lays it in and draws the foul on Stuckey. He hits the FT and the lead is cut to 7. Maxiell hits a baseline jumper over Pollard. House misses a jumper and McDyess rebounds. Maxiell hits a jumper over Davis. Pierce called for a foul setting a screen. KG comes back into the game. Celtcs were outscored 23-7 while KG was on the bench. Tony with a steal and takes it to the hoop for a layup. Aflalo misses a jumper and PP rebounds. PP loses the dribble but it comes right back to him and he is fouled. Time out with Pistons up 28-19 and 8:50 left in the half

PP hits both FTs. Pistons hit a jumper. PP takes it hard to the hoop and misses a layup but Davis is there for the rebound and put back. McDyess misses a jumper and KG rebounds. House hits a jumper. Tony with good defense on Hamilton forces a miss and Celtics rebound. Maxiell with a hard foul on KG. Maxiell gets a technical for going at KG afterwards. KG hits the T. Billups comes in for Stuckey. KG at the line for the FTs for the foul. He misses both FTs. Pistons rebound. Hamilton misses on the baseline and Tony tracks down the rebound. KG loses the handle but the ball comes out to House. House misses a runner at the SC. Pistons rebound. Hamilton gets to the hoop and lays it in. KG misses a leaner in the lane but is fouled by McDyess, his third. Time out with Pistons up 32-26 and 5:50 left in the half .

KG at the line. He hits both FTs. House with pressure on Billups in the back court. Hayes misses and gets his own miss. Rasheed misses a baseline jumper - good D by Davis. House rebounds. KG's layup is blocked by Maxiell and RA hits a 3. Pistons hit a 3. RA misses a 3 from the corner and Pistons rebound. WAllace misses a 3 off the catch. RA misses a layup and Davis is there for the rebound and he powers up the layup. Billups is fouled by Davis as he drives to the hoop. Billups hits both FTs. Perk called for a travel in the paint. Hayues misses and PP rebounds in traaffic, Celtics miss a jumper and Rondo chases after the rebound and is fouled in a scuffle with Billups for the ball. He hits the first and misses the second. KG called for a foul as he rebounds the miss, his third. Doc is up and yelling his displeasure with the call. KG goes out and Davis back in. Time out with 2:51 left in the half and Pistons up 36-34

Davis hustles for the rebound. RA hits a 3 from the corner as the SC goes off. RA called for a foul Billups misses and Celtics rebound. Davis with a bounce pass to PErk who misses but gets his own rebound and is fouled. He misses the first FT and hits the second. Wallace backs Davis in and lays it in. Delay of game warning on Detroit. PP hits a 3 to tie the game at 41. Wallace misses Hamilton rebounds. Has it stripped. Gets it back and lays it in. Time out with 22.8 left in the half and Pistons up 43-41.

Celtics inbound with 19 on the SC and 22.8 left in the half. PP inbounds to Rondo who dribbles near mid court. He drives into the lane and kicks it to Posey who misses a 3. Pistons rebound and miss a half court shot at the buzzer. Score at the half Pistons 43 and Celtics 41

Wallace called for an offensive foul. PP misses a 3. Pistons rebound. Billups hits a jumper. Wallace still complaining about the call. Billups called for a technical. RA hits the T. Celtics inbound and bring it up. KG misses a jumper and Pistons rebound. WAllace hits a straight away 3. Hamilton called for a foul. Celtics inbound on the side. KG misses. He is fouled but no call. RA gets the rebound and lays it in. Billups hits a jumper and is fouled from behind by Rondo. He hits the FT. Rondo drives to the Hoop and is fouled by Billups, his second. Rondo misses both FTs. Pistons rebound. Hamilton misses and RA rebounds. RA misses a 3 and McDyess rebounds. Perk blocks Prince's shot. RA called for his 3rd foul. Billups misses and Perk grabs the airball. RA called for his 4th foul. Posey comes in for RA. Rondo with pressure in the back court. Prince misses and PP rebounds. KG gets the ball inside and lays it in. McDyess misses a jumper and PP rebounds. PP drives to the hoop and has it knocked out of bounds. Celtics inbound with 8 on the SC. Posey hits a 3 from the corner as the SC winds down. PP loses the ball and Pistons come back and hit a 3. KG misses a jumper. Pistons rebound. Pistons picking up their defense and again it is taking the Celtics out of their offense. Posey called for a foul. Pistons inbound on the side. Prince misses off the catch. KG rebounds. Posey called for an offensive foul, his 4th. Tony comes in for Posey. Mcdyess misses and Rondo rebounds. KG goes baseline and hits an up and under shot. Perk forces a turnover as he forces BIllups out of bounds. Time out with Pistons up 57-55 and 2:54 left in the 3rd
