Keys to the GameStop Kobe Don't expect the Garden crowd to be cheering for Kobe this game. Kobe can single handedly beat a team and so Doc needs to do whatever it takes to stop him and take him out of his game. Pierce should see some time guarding him as should Posey and we should see double teams coming at him whenever he touches the ball. Take Care of the Ball. The Celtics must get their turnovers under control. They can get away with 19 turnovers with some teams, but the better teams will take advantage of them. Defense After a lapse in Orlando, the Celtics were back to playing good defense against the Warriors. The Celtics can't afford to have defensive lapses against the Lakers or they will capitalize on them. For the Celtics to be an elite team, they have to make defense second nature and make it a priority. Game Notes: The Celtics- Lakers rivalry is one of the most storied in all basketball. In recent years it just wasn't the same because the Celtics had fallen on hard times. But, with the resurgence of the Celtics this year, we should see the rivalry heat up. The Lakers have been playing well even though they are coming off a loss to Milwaukee on Wednesday. It would be good to hear the Beat LA chants in the Garden again. Ray Allen and KG are both big on history and I am sure the history of the rivalry between these two teams won't be lost on them. Should be a good game. |

I agree with RR. This is a statement game for our C's. I hope we blow them out obviously, but it might be a tight game.

The crowd is very loud. Lakers win the tip. Bynum misses a hook shot over Perk and KG grabs the rebound. Perk gets the ball inside on a bounce pass from RA and he lays it in. Perk tips the alley oop away and Celtics come away with it. Celtics miss and Kobe grabs the rebound amid a chorus of boos from the crowd. Fisher hits a jumper. RA beats Kobe baseline and lays it in. Crowd still booing Kobe who misses a jumper. KG rebounds. Bynum called for a foul on Pierce. Celtics inbound on the side. Perk hits a hook shot in the lane on a feed from Pierce. Bynum misses inside and Rondo rebounds. RA hits a 3 off the catch. Kobe hits a tough fall away jumper. Perk's layup is blocked by Turiaf. PP gets the rebound and misses the put back and Lakers rebound. Perk with good defense on Bynum causes a travel. Perk called for an offensive foul. Kobe walking the ball up. Fisher fouled by PP. He hits both FTs. RA throws up a shot when he is fouled by Kobe. He hits both FTs. Lakers turn it over. KG misses a jumper from the FT line. lakers rebound. Bynum misses a layup and Perk rebounds. RA misses a jumper and rebound goes out of bounds off KG. Rondo pokes the ball away from Fisher from behind. Lakers in bound on the baseline and Turiaf gets inside and lays it in. Rondo beats his man to the basket and lays it down to Perk who is fouled as he goes up for the layup. Bynum's second foul. Perk misses the first FT. Former Celtic Chris Mihm checks in for the Lakers. Perk hits the second. Odom drives to the hoop and misses a runner in the lane. He gets his own rebound. Fisher misses a 3 and Perk rebounds. Rondo drives to the hoop and kicks out to PP for a 3. Lakers miss and Perk tips the rebound out to Rondo. Rondo misses a runner in the lane. Perk can't get the tip. Rondo gets his hands on the rebound but it goes off his fingers to the Lakers. Time out with Celtics up 15-8 and 5:07 left in the first

Bullet pass inside from PP to KG for the dunk. PP with a steal and he takes it all the way to the hoop for a layup. KObe misses a pull up jumper and Mihm rebounds. KG with a block. celtics turn it over. Celtics with a steal. RA takes it to the hoop and lays it in. Time out with Celtics up 23-10 and 2:52 left in the first quarter

In the time out, Doc told them to keep pushing the pace of the game. Kobe misses a layup. Mihm's follow no good. Posey rebounds. Celtics miss and Kobe rebounds. Kobe misses and KG rebounds. RA misses a 3. Lakers rebound. Kobe gets to the hoop and lays it in. Tony, KG, RA, Rondo, Posy on the floor. Tony goes baseline and dunks. He almost looked like the old Tony. Tony goes for the steal but is called for a foul. Lakers inbound with 17 on the SC. Kobe hits a fall away on the baseline over Tony. KG misses a jumper and Lakers rebound. Kobe misses but is fouled by Tony on the shot. Kobe hits both FTs. Scal misses from the corner and Lakers rebound. Farmar misses a 3 at the buzzer. Score at the end of 1 is Boston 25 and Los Angeles 16

Celtics inbound to start the second. PP drives baseline and finds Pollard for a layup. Lakers miss and Celtics rebound. Tony drives into the paint and loses the ball. Tony called for his third foul as Vujacic goes to the line. He hits both FTs. Lakers extend the defense into the back court and House passes out of the pressure. House called for a travel. Celtics 4th TO. Walton hits a leaner on the baseline. PP loses the ball and dives to the floor and gets it back but a jump ball is called. PP wins the tip. Scal inside to Perk for a dunk and he is fouled. He completes the 3 point play. Farmar hits 3. Perk called for a travel as he tries to move past Bynum. Perk came up limping. Bynum takes it to the hoop for a layup. Perk still limping a little. House hits a 3. Farmar misses a 3 but gets his own rebound. Lakers lose the ball out of bounds. PP is fouled. Time out with Celtics up 33-25 and 8:45 left in the second. The starters were pushing the ball and getting easy shots but the second unit has slowed the tempo down and aren't pushing the ball at the Lakers.

Posey doubled, He kicks it out to Scal who is doubled and kicks it back to Posey who lays it in. House with a steal. PP misses and Perk is able to keep it alive. PP hits a 3. Walton misses a jumper. Posey rebounds. PP uses a screen from Perk and lays it in. Lakers miss and Walton gets away with a push and gets the rebound and lays it in. Walton with a steal Farmar called for a travel. KG back in for the Celtics. KG gets the ball inside and is fouled by Bynum, his 3rd. KG hits both FTs. Lakers miss and PErk rebounds. Perk rifles a pass inside to KG who is fouled by Turiaf. Time out with Celtics up 42-27 and 5:55 left in the second as chants of Beat LA resounded from the crowd.

Fisher hits a jumper. KG hits a baseline jumper. PP gets a hand on a pass and LA will inbound with 10 on the SC. Fisher misses a 3 and KG rebounds. PP turns it over. Celtics tip the ball out of bounds. Lakers inbound with 17 on the SC. Odom misses a layup and KG rebounds. Odom fouls KG on the rebound. KG hits the first and misses the second. Lakers rebound. Fisher hits a jumper. KG misses a jumper and Lakers rebound. Odom hits a runner in the lane. Rondo hits a baseline jumper on a great pass from Perk. Fisher misses a 3 and Rondo chases down the rebound and tips it to PP. RA misses a 3 and Fisher rebounds. Turiaf hits a jumper. PP spins around Odom and misses. Lakers come away with it. Turiaf misses and KG rebounds. PP hits a jumper over Fisher. time out with Celtics up 51 - 35 and 49 seconds left in the half

Lakers inbound with 19 on the SC. Kobe loses the ball in the paint. Rondo fakes a pass in the lane and then takes it to the hoop and lays it in. What a move!!! Fisher misses and rebound goes to PP who misses a half court shot at the buzzer. Score at the half is Boston 53 and Lakers 35

Celtics inbound to start the third. KG misses a turn around. Lakers rebound. Bynum gets an O rebound and dunks it. PP has it stripped inside but Fisher steps out of bounds and Celtics get it back. RA hits a jumper. Kobe misses a jumper and rebound goes out of bounds off Boston. Kobe gets the ball inside and he lays it in. KG with a pass down the land to Perk who dunks it. Celtics knock the ball out of bounds and Lakers in bound with 11 on the SC. Kobe hits a 3 with the SC winding down. RA misses and Lakers rebound. Lakers miss and Celtics rebound. Perk misses and Lakers rebound. Fisher hits a 3. KG with acouple of fakes and draws the foul on Bynum. He hits both FTs. Mihm misses in the lane and PP rebounds. Rondo throws up a pass for KG who lays it in. RA called for a reach in foul. Kobe at the line and hits the first amid a chorus of boos. He hits the second. PP drives to the hoop and lays it in. Radmanovic hits a 3. RA takes it to the hoop and is fouled. RA hits both FTs. Kobe hits a jumper. KG hits a tough shot over Odom. RA called for a foul and the crowd doesn't like that call. the replay shows there was no contact so the crowd was right it was a bad call. Kobe misses the first and hits the second. Rondo is fouled hard by Odom. KG misses and Lakers rebound. Fisher called for an offensive foul as PP takes the charge. Mihm called for a foul on Rondo. Time out with Celtics up 67-54 and 5:58 left in the 3rd

PP hits a fall away in the lane. Perk forces Mihm to turn it over. Rondo hits a jumper from the top of the key. Perk and KG combine for a nice block on Mihm. PP takes it to the hoop and is fouled. PP misses the first FT He hits the second. Odom called for a travel. RA misses a jumper but Perk is there for the put back and a foul. Time out with Celtics up 74-54 and 4:24 left in the 3rd

Lakers miss and RA rebounds. Rondo gets into the paint and passes to Perk for a dunk. Nice pass by Rondo. Perk with the loose ball. KG hits a jumper. Kobe misses on the baseline and KG rebounds. RA misses up and under and Lakers rebound. Walton misses in the paint and PP rebounds. PP called for a travel. Perk and KG sit with 17 points each. Walton misses and Radmanovic tips it in. Rondo with a bounce pass to a cutting Scal for the layup. Radmanovic hits a jumper from the top of the key. PP stops and pops and misses and Rondo tries for the save but Lakers recover. Lakers hit a jumper. Rondo misses from the corner and RA grabs the rebound and misses a jumper on the baseline. Score at the end of 3 is Boston 84 and Lakers 66

Posey cuts to the basket and misses a layup as he goes down hard. Lakers rebound. Radmanovic hits a layup and draws a foul on Pierce. He hits the FT. Pierce loses the ball in the paint. Scal recovers it and kicks out to Tony who misses from the corner and Bynum rebounds. Lakers lose the ball out of bounds. PP drives and loses the ball out of bounds. Farmar takes it to the hoop and lays it in. Posey fumbles the ball and then recovers and hits a 3. Farmar takes it to the hoop and lays it in. Walton comes up with a steal. Lakers miss and Celtics rebound. House hits a jumper on the baseline. kicked ball and time out with Celtics up 92-75 and 8:16 left in the 4th
