McGinnis, Shammond, Ed Cota, etc. Funny how they looked good in college, but never really shined in the NBA. I still don't know why teams don't like Shammond Williams. I really like him and I thought he was a better option than Delk was at PG during the playoff run a couple of years ago.
Hopefully, Felton will fall a bit further than projected. The only way I see Felton staying in college another year is if Sean May, Rashad McCants, and Marvin Williams stay at UNC for another year. If any one of them leaves, and there's a good chance that one of them, if not a couple of them, may bolt for the NBA, Felton will probably look to make the jump also. If the Tar Heels cannot win the championship this year, I'm afraid they won't win it next year if any one of their top players leave.

Back to the Big Man topic, I must give more respect to Ronny Turiaf. I must admit that I wasn't much of a fan of his in the past. Sure he had a lot of raw talent and he plays like a beast in the paint. But for some reason, I wasn't sold on him. But seeing him in action tonight against Pepperdine, he played super aggressively on both ends of the floor and showed the type of game that can translate over to the NBA. One thing about Turiaf is that he really plays like a big man. He doesn't get cheated in the paint. If he misses a shot, he probably got fouled.
Maybe it was his attitude on the defensive end that I really didn't see before. Maybe its the increased confidence in his game that wasn't as pronounced last year. For whatever reason, Turiaf has taken a bump up on my list of PF's I'd take in the latter part of the first round.

Plus hes a zag. I like Gonzaga.
If Francisco Garcia plays SF, he should be considered. Plus, maybe a spanish blooded player would be good to diversify things up a bit like the jazz.

Not necessarily because he's got Spanish blood in him, but I want a player like him because of the fire in his belly. Hispanic players show a lot of passion in the sports they play in, whether it be Dominican Republicans, Cubans, Mexicans, Puerto Ricans, Spaniards, Brazilian, Argentinians, etc. They play the game with a flare that is contageous. I like Fransisco Garcia, but the only way I see him succeeding here is if Paul Pierce is not on the team. Sisco is the type of player who excels with the ball in his hands a lot during games. He's not just a catch and shoot player. He likes to create for others. With Pierce and Sisco on the same team, there's not going to be enough basketballs to go around the court for the both of them.

Who knows though. Villeunova is also an option then. Danny will be the judge of who comes here between Garcia and Villeunova. But 2 Pierces won't be a good thing. I hope Villeunova is not the same way with needing the ball a whole lot. He could be also much like an Odom.

Size up front and a PG are the two more important areas we need to cover. Mt Perk and Big Al could be our starters in a few years, but we'll still need to get front court depth. And Delonte is still being considered a prospect for the starting spot (and Banks too), but we still may be able to pull in a starting material PG or a solid backup in the draft. But with late first rounders, Ainge will probably go for the best player available, which means that if Villanueva enters this year and is still there when we pick and he's the best player available, then even though we have more pressing needs at the Bigs and the 1, we should take him. Right now, I like Charlie more than Fransisco.

The pg spot should be #1 to draft at. Rebounding is needed but you cannot have too many pf's on one team battling for time not to mention blonut hasn't sat a game all yr. I think rebounding will develop when Perkins does. A stud pf in this years draft is not needed as bad as you might think. The best teams do not jeopardise their future by overloading a team with equal talent options. Friction is gonna come into play. Just leave it (rebounding and blocks) to Perkins and Al J once they develop plus Raef here and there. NO SIMIEN!

There's little chance that we move up high enough to grab Chris Taft, but boy this kid has got the goods. He's got excellent size, explosiveness, touch, and feel in the post. He goes up with his baby hook either with his right, or left hand. Has good footwork in the post and has a variety of ways to get his shot off. I haven't really seen him use a spin move to release a jumper. Maybe that's because he doesn't have a jumper.
If you guys remember the movie Beetle Juice and the guy who shrinks heads, Chris Taft looks like he had his head shrunk. His body just looks too big for the head he has on his shoulders.
He's an excellent shot blocker because he's got gorilla arms. Quick off his feet, which enables him to time the block well. His numbers don't indicate it, but he's a strong rebounder. Jumps at the boards with both hands and gobbles up everything that's near him. His size and quickness allows him to clear space and get to boards before his man does. His hands are incredibly soft, too.
He's a top 5 pick if he comes out this year as a sophomore. Doubt we'll be able to move up to get him, but it'd be incredible if we do.

i DO think that we should draft charlie villanueva. he's the do-everything type of player we need. he can play several positions making us more flexible. this is the way we should go

Yay Darren is finally starting to like Turiaf I remember how you weren't so keen on him last march when I brought him up. But glad to see he's catching your eye, I think he's someone that just would bring another dimension to our team. And his hair combined with ricky's would be one great site

He had the physical tools back then, but he was just all over the place. I worried that he'd constantly be in foul trouble because of the amount of offensive fouls he'd have called on him. He's better this year than last year and I'll give props to players who deserve it. Ronny Turiaf does deserve props. At this time, I'd probably rank him 7th among PF's behind of Taft, Simien, Shelden, Diogu, May, and Boone. BC, Charlie would be really nice to grab. Gives us more versatility.

i read that ainge was scouting gonzaga game last night If he was there to scout the Gonzaga team, he could have been looking at Morrison or possibly Raivio. I'm liking Morrison now. At first I didn't think he was special. Now, I see him being a better all around player than Vlad Radmonovic. He has more intangibles.

Remember I said how he was ranked kinda nicely like a poor mans Larry Bird.
