Right now, the minutes could be heavily divided on these players:
Perk KG Pierce RAllen Rondo
Pollard Scalabrine TAllen House
That's a 9 man rotation--right about where Doc said he'll have it. Spot minutes will be given to Powe, and maybe Big Baby.
I'm not exactly thrilled with our bench, and I hope Ainge is not done yet, but its acceptable.

Yeah I was hoping we'd do more with our bench. If House and Pollard are it and the guard and big man they were talking about, that's not enough to get it done.

We're not done yet and a minimum contract only does so much. Plus I don't think our backups are that much worse than other team's. I don't think the Suns have so much better backups than ours other than Barbosa. If TA is healthy he can be like that.
Plus people say our top 3 is better than a lot of teams and then there's this huge dropoff, but I think our top 5 might be better. Assume for a second Perk is healthy. Is Perk and Rondo that much worse than Elson and Bowen? No. Perk is better and Rondo plays some darn good defense himself, plus if he neutralized Parker, all of a sudden it's no slam dunk for San Antonio at all. If he put a big crimp in Nash's style? Do you take Dirk over KG? Can the Mavs win if KG neutralized Dirk? and who was their big backup? Stackhouse? Isn't he gone? Old anyways.
I give us as much chance as anyone

I think we will see more of Powe and/or Davis then Pollard. I think Pollard if he makes the team is one of those guys that we may body on a Shaq to give us 6 fouls on an inside presence.

I am not overly thrilled about Pollard. The last few years he has started the season as a important piece of his teams bench rotation only to end up when said and done a non factor in the rotation at the end of the season. To me he is a 3rd. center on a good team.No more.(Let's hope that we are a good team. And Perk can stay healthy,And Kg can man the center position when needed.)

Id like to throw some fire on the neagativity towards our bench. Look guys we have 3 guys that will average almost 75 pts between them. I think we can find another 25-30 from the rest of the guys. Also everyone is acting like all of the bench players will be in at the same time. Doc will always make sure one of the big 3 is on the court at all times. I'm expecting Rondo to average at least 10 pts a game, Perk should average that as well, because with all of the attention the other guys are getting perk should at least see more easy baskets.
House is a good shooter who's not afraid to take the shot when its presented. If tony allen comes back healthy that's another double figure scorer. Powe will get a few easy buckets and free throws just because he's a great rebounder and fights for position. Scal can hit the 3 on occasion, and is always hustling doing the little things.
I'm sure Doc will incorporate Pruitt and Davis throughout the season, especially on back to back games when we'll need to excercise that youth. All you need from your bench is guys to plays their roles. There seems to be this misconception that we need a 20 pt scorer off the bench, nothing could be further from the truth. If everyone contributes something we'll be fine.

Kofanis, I think Powe and Davis certainly have a future in the NBA, and I'm hoping its with us. But as for this season, I don't think we will see them in big roles; such as immediate backup duties to Perk and KG. Pollard, for the time being, will most likely be the backup.
GoCeltics, our Big Three may be the best in basketball, and they will be called upon to do the bulk of the work. But the bench will need to carry their weight, for us to reach the elite level in the league, and I just don't feel secure in knowing that our main backups are Pollard, Scalabrine, TAllen, and House.

House is a clutch 3-point specialist; and Pollard can mix it up defensively.

A lot of our success will be dependent on the improvement of Rondo and Perkins, both of whom are in the starting lineup. I think Powe, Scalabrine and Tony Allen will be key members. House provides firepower off the bench. Pollard is an energetic defensive player, a good backup to Perkins. Brandon Wallace and Manuel were signed as defensive players. It is up to them to find a role with this team. We have not signed Gabe Pruitt or Glen Davis yet.

I agree it's basically all about Perk and Rondo now in the sense that it's about their positions, cause nobody who backs up KG will get outplayed so bad in 15 mins that it totally undoes what he does in 37 mins. Same with the other stars. So it's basically about what do those 2 positions contribute and those are the guys we'll have to look to unless there's a change

I think the team needs a veteran PG signing.

Doc will always make sure one of the big 3 is on the court at all times. I honestly would hope that 2 of the three are on the floor at the same time, but 1 aint bad. As someone else said...A vet PG is about as close to necessity as one could come. It is the most glaring thing I see.

I see Powe/Davis getting more minutes than Pollard. From what I read, KG is going to play some back-up center minutes as well.
I wouldn't be shocked if Pollard falls to 4th center on the roster (Perk/KG/Powe or Davis).

I really like Big Baby and i think he is a dark horse for ROY. Atleast if he is stuggling during the season he'll give a good interview!
