I'm still kind of very surprised we didn't go for the Rashard Lewis sign and trade for free, but if we had we'd be no better than the Magic now

well if we had done the Rashard Lewis I tihnk we would be a lot better than the Magic.
that and the fact we still might have been able to get KG.

Option #2 team (Trade Wally #5 Telfair Big Al for KG and Hassell which I think was the originally proposed deal)

Lewis/G. Green/Hassell
Garnett/Gomes/Powe/Scalabrine
Perkins
I would have preferred the 2nd team.

oh and Ratliff and I guess a 2nd would have been sent to Sea in return for Lewis in the sign and trade

Rashard Lewis' contract is hideous. I'd hate to see the C's attatched to the boat anchor for the next few years.
And speaking of which, this is the first time in the free agent era that we havent had a bad contract on this team. Think of it, from Dana Barros to Pervis to Vin Baker to Raef to Theo, that a long run of killer contracts. Finally we're out from under that mess.

You think it was Ainge's intention all along to get Ray Allen, knowing that by doing so, his chances of luring Garnett here would be much greater?
