We can't just be a 3 man team. Its certainly better than a 2 man team, or a 1 man team, but we need a team full of contributors alongside of KG, Pierce, and RAllen. That's the only way we'll be contenders.
Thinking right now, who will be our 4th leading scorer? Our big three will be 20 pg scorers each, or near that. But if we have a big drop off beyond that, we are heavily relying on our big three to produce and win games for us. Normally, good teams will have 5 or more guys on the team averaging double digits in scoring. Hopefully, we'll have more than 3.
Rajon will get a lot of playing time, and so will Perkins (if he stays out of foul trouble). But unless Rajon develops a jumper, and Perkins gets a softer touch, I don't know if they'll consistently be our 4th scorers.
If Ryan Gomes comes back, I think he can be that 4th scorer who averages 12 ppg.

I would also vote for Ryan Gomes. I see Rajon and Perk averaging around 8-10 ppg. Gomes will be that guy that comes in and gives us around 12. This is all contingent on Ryan Gomes comign back obviously. If he doesn't we need a guy like that, and I dont think Big Baby Davis is there yet. You make a good pt here though Derren and it's more reason to believe Gomes is going to come back. If he doesnt we are going to be relying a lot more on guys like Scal.

No, I don't think we can count on Big Baby this season. Leon Powe is more advanced than him as of right now, and I don't even think Powe will be ready to play a lot of minutes off the bench yet.
I agree with you--Rajon and Perk will average near 8 ppg (give or take a point).

Yeah, you would have to think that Rondo and Perkins would be the key guys, scoring-wise, after the GAP group. This is purely due to the number of minutes they'll likely be getting.
Congrats to Celtics fans for something to cheer about again! I haven't been around here for a while, but it will be exciting times for both Celtics and Blazer fans (like me) this season!

I think it will be Perk cause his put back opportunities will be easier and just as plentiful as Rondos open shots

Hey there, Mookie!! Hey, I think the Blazers are definitely looking towars a bright future. You have a long and tall front court (Oden and Aldridge, wth Channing Frye and Josh McRoberts backing them up), Brandon Roy is going to be a really good 2 guard, Rudy Fernandez should also be solid, and you have 2 european PGs who will be battling each other for the starting spot (Sergio Rodriguez and Peteri Koponen). I hear Jarret Jack is on his way out--send him our way please.

Perk will get a lot more putback attempts, but so far in his career, Perk has not been a very good garbage scorer. He's not quick at converting missed shots.

uhh did I miss something? Gomes is part of the deal and headed to Minny. I think if Tony Allen bounces back he'll be the #4 option coming off the bench. seriously though, I don't see a #4 scorer being needed too badly.

The rumor right now is that Ryan Gomes will be cut by the Wolves. We're hoping he's able to come back to us.

A balanced team is always harder to guard. Its to our advantage if our 4th and 5th scorers can score points while our Big Three are resting. There will be times when both KG and Pierce are on the bench, leaving Ray Allen and our supporting cast on the floor. This is when our 4th leading scorer comes in handy. He has to step up to take the focus off of RAllen.
A healthy Tony Allen can definitely be our 4th scoring option. This is why its so important for him to make a total recovery and regain his form he had before he went down with his injury.

Im sure how it'll work is basically there will never be a time when one of the GAP group (thanks Mookie!) isnt on the court. So one of them will always be the benifiary to the attention they draw on D. My guess is either House (Hitting wide open threes), Rondo (easy trips to the hoop), or Perk (dunks and putbacks) will prolly be our 4th scorer, chipping in around 8-9 PPG.

of course a more balanced team is better, but when you have 3 superstars who are going to score around 80 ppg for the three of them, you're talking about a 4th scorer who will avg 10-12 ppg. I think KG's scoring will dip but his rebounding and defense will what he focuses on. I've always seen him as the ultimate Robin in need of a Batman. He's the Ultra Scottie Pippen. this is a great role for him with two superior scorers to compliment his great all around game. I just can't wait for the season to begin!

I say rondo. He averaged 13 ptsa a game the last month of the season. He has the ability to create his own shot, something perk of gomes can't really do. Rondo's quickness is going to kill opposing point guards.

I wouldnt surprised if all of KG's numbers went up. And when you think about it all of their stats could go up.
These are the most shots that they have taken in a season along with a few other offensive stats (on avg) FGM/FGA FG% PPG AST FTM/FTA FT% 3PM/3PA 3P% Pierce: (2002-3) 8.4/20.2 .416% 25.9 PPG 4.4 APG 7.6/9.5 .802% 1.5/4.9 .302% Allen (2006-7): 9.2/21.0 .438% 26.4 PPG 4.1 APG 5.1/5.6 .903% 3.0/8.1 .372% Garnett (2003-4): 9.8/19.6 .499% 24.2 PPG 5.0 APG 4.5/5.7 .791% 0.1/0.5 .256%
Now I am definitely not saying they are gonna take this many shots this year, but if it were to happen. The total would be 60.8 through for those 3 players. And this year they averaged 57 shots.
In Washington Butler Jamison and Arenas combined for about 53 shots, Iverson Camby and Melo averaged about 52 shots.
Orlando shot the least amount of shots per a game at 74.3, this would leave 14 shots give or take for the rest of the team. Well I dont think our offense will be much like Orlando's next year but closer to that of a PHX New Orleans Denver Washington or GS (not in terms of philosophy but in terms of fast pace high scoring).
All of who were between 81-86 points and would leave the rest of the team with about 20-26 shots per a game. Again Im not saying that this is what is going to happen especially this is the max that they have ever taken in any season, but given the rest of their team and their reluctance to shoot/make shots (exception House) i think that this could work, especially since atleast one of them will be double teamed.

I would say Tony Allen if he comes back from the injury. Perk is going to have a monster year but I think it will be mostly on the defensive end but I do think he will average at least 10 ppg. Rondo will probably average around 10 ppg as well.

T Allen could provide instant offense off the bench, as well as lock-down defense.
