sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2917781I dont know how I feel about this. There is still potential they trade with the hawks instead I guess, but this is very legit and close to happening it looks like. Ainge has been pretty adament that a trade is unlikely so who knows. I'd rather just keep the pick myself and possibly trade Pierce and build around Rondo, Green, Jefferson and whatever we can bring in. Marion is a big time player though and if we can get him for the 5th pick and ratliff pretty much I think we have to think really hard about that. Teaming Marion with Pierce and Jefferson could be really good. It's one of those trades you kind of have to do. Me personally I think I'd still just take Yi and roll the dice. Let Pierce complain. If he doesnt like it trade him. We might actually be pretty good this year and it might shut him up.

It's weird becuz i've been reading all day. Some day the deal is being discuss others say it's not going anywhere.
To be honest, I really think Ainge will stick with his guns and make the pick tomorrow. Wouldn't be shocked if we start hearing about teams asking for PP availability.

Stay the course. Thousand points of light. Stay the course. I probably shouldn't be quoting George Bush because he's a moron, but in this instance I'd rather stay the course and build for the longterm. MArion could opt out and doesnt even want to come here. This team isn't as far off as people think. Perk, Green, Rondo should all step up this year.

Rondo, Pierce, Green, Jefferson, Perk with Yi, West, etc off the bench is pretty good. We are going to have some defensive deficiencies but whatever. I think we can win the division with that lineup. In a year we can really challenge and if we need to trade Pierce so be it..

In the end, my guess is that the Atl,Phx,Minny trade is going to go down. KG wants to be in Phx, it is rumored that Stoudamire would go to Atl to play with JJohnson, and Minny's gotta love getting 2 lotto picks. 3 of the top 11 picks in a stacked draft? If you're going to rebuild, what a way to start.

So who do we take if we stay at 5? Danny is now saying a trade is unlikely and Pierce is nto demanding a trade. My short list is pretty much the same as DAnny Boy's. Green, Brewer, Yi and Noah. I don't really like the idea of handicapping this team with salary anyways at this point. Trying to appease Pierce is like making a deal with the devil. Not that Marion isnt good but thats it. Is Pierce, Marion, JEfferson good enough to win it? I doubt it. We'd be good, but I don't like that. I'd rather just let the Pierce situation play itself out.

I know there is little chance he'll be there, but I'd do a freaking back-flip if Horford somehow fell to us. This guy is going to be a perennial all-star. Horford and Jefferson patroling the paint for the next 10-12 years? I'll take two scoops of that.

Horford is a monster, but Danny the dummy man will take Jeff Green

Horford most likely will be gone.Take Jeff Green. Then trade G Green and the 32 pick to Houston for Luther Head and 26 pick.Keep fingers crossed thar Smith from colorado or Williams from Bc there at 26.That would be a good day. Also why would Houston do it they now have Mike James who can play the 2 guard. As well as the Pg.(Head is a 2 gd.)scrappy player. And Houston has always been enamored with Gerald

I still like Thornton a lot. 5 is too high but I think he is just as good as Green and Brewer. Green, Brewer, thornton is like picking apples and oranges. My gut says Thornton, but I like Green and Brewer a lot as well.

Ainge is no dummy when it comes to the draft.he's the reason we have Al, Gerald, Delonte, Allen and rondo.
he'd scoop Horford up in less than a min if he drops to #5. it just ain't happening is all.
I keep thinking.. what do the C's need? size and defense. who's available that can do that? Noah! I've changed my opinion about the dude and I think he has the desire to develop. He may not have the ceiling some others have, but he has the savy and desire to be good. Green is another pick, but he has to grow into being a PF with Al in the middle IMO. he'd be on the bench behind Paul and Wally at SF right now.

I'm not sure if I'd take him but he is a better player than people think.

As I recall, he is a good passer, good defender, and creashes the boards? Do I have that right?
If so, a 3=some of him, AJ, and Perk would be much better than in many years.

I don't like it, there is a mark BUST on Noah's face who's the better choice though? brewer? his posistion is loaded! you should always draft the best player available, but if you got 2-3 guys you consider pretty much equal then you draft the one who fits your needs. Noah fits 2 needs. Brewer only 1. it's a tough call, and I'm not 100% Noah won't be mediocre but you gotta like his attitude. besides, this guy was a top 2 or 3 pick last year if he comes out. I think (pray if we draft him) he'll be solid.
