Well, I think getting Oden would have given us our best chance at the next Celtics Dynasty. We can still have a dynasty with the right moves, but the chances aren't as high as it would have been with Oden.
From the sounds of it, we could very well make that trade with Atlanta for Joe Johnson--they seem to really want Mike Conley. So the possibility of this happening seems to be good.
Drafting Thornton is also a good possibility (if we get a lower lottery pick). I've read that Ainge does have interest in him.
Getting Darko depends on how much Ainge believes in the guy. So far I haven't heard of any interest on Ainge's part.

Totally unrelataed, but this seems to be the most active discussion: I HATE THE DAMN CHEERLEADERS OCCUPYING FIRST-BILLING ON THE HOME PAGE! THE RED HEAD MUST BE WRITHING IN AGONY, NOT LUST.

Realgm.com rumor? I don't know how legit it is but, this annoymous rumor stating we're looking at:
Boston trades: Theo/Wally, Green and 5th pick
for
Atlanta trades: Joe Johnson, Shelden Williams and 1tth pick
I'd take it as a grain of salt , but it would be nice getting that package in return for theo/5th pick.

As good as I think Noah will be I'd have to say that would be a pretty sweet deal. It takes the uncertainty away from GG. Who cares if he became an all-star cause now we'd have one. Plus we'd have TWO good big man prospects assuming we use the 11th for a big man, although I'm beginning to believe DA likes Al Thornton. I just kinda don't get why or where we would put him or why.

Its definitely a good deal. I would much rather go with Jeff Green, Wright or possibly Splitter at the 11th spot than go with Thornton.

I guess if we lose GG we may want another swing just in case Wally and TA don't get healthy, but I still think we need big men. Then again Sheldon is a big man. I could see him and Perk having an interesting competition. Plus we'd still have Gomes, Powe, and Al. Then again Gomes can play some small forward now, and Delonte can play some 2 or Ray. Course they may be busy at the 1 with Bassy gone

Thornton, no. The player is 23 years old. Don't most people graduate college at 20-21? Johnson...good riddance we bring back the guy who looked like he was going to cry his rookie season. And, add in Sheldon "stiff". Might as well watch the semi-final collegient game, when Okafor made minse meat out of him.

idk... i don't mind adding a SG who averaged 25 pts per game 47% fg pct., 4.4 ast per game. Plus, adding a big-man whose only in his 2nd season along with whatever rookie we get with the 11th pick.
Yi, Horford, or Wright do not impress me much compare to the package atlanta could give to this franchise. We aren't 1 player away from contention. We need to establish more talent on this roster especially in the frontcourt. Adding Williams or possibly Splitter/Green/Hawes sounds much better than adding an unknown prospect in Yi or a raw player in Wright.

the only way i would trade with atlanta:
Boston trades: Wally, Green and 5th pick
for
Atlanta trades: Joe Johnson, Marvin Williams and 1tth pick
much more balanced this way

Hmmm... I would have signed off on the original trade without much hesitation. But now they want us to throw in Gerald Green, I'm a bit aprehensive.
I guess if we are using the 11th pick to get Al Thornton, I will be ok with this deal. I don't mind getting back Shelden Williams. He's a good defensive big man (or will be once he's settled in with the NBA game). He's short to be a Center, so I don't know about putting him next to Jefferson in the starting lineup.
