Yeah. Gomes is up next year,. he'll want a raise and should get it. Just give him Powe's money. Some of these guys can't possibly expect to make much more than half the MLE. 4 mill is what Perk got. That's what they'll want at least. Between Ratliff and Wally and Bassy 30 mill comes off the books in two years. I guess Al will want about 13 of that. That leaves a lot to be split up. Scala leaves after that, but what if Rondo or GG or TA play themselves to a max contract? Plus you figure an Oden or Durant would some day want a huge contract. That's why someone like a TA may have to go. We have a bunch of players coming up in the same couple years so it'll be hard to split up the MLEs

Gomes is worth a salary increase.

Well, hopefully the fans (or you know who you are) are going to complain less next year for whatever reasons. Ex: Durant, Oden, etc. The guys this year busted their butts, and the arm-chair basketball players kept on saying what is wrong w/ the team. Injuries. If you ever played sports, and were injured, then you feel their pain. true, but you can only blame injuries so much. Just about every team has to deal with injuries. There was no excuse for an 18 game losing streak. The coach has to take accountability for not adjusting and having the correct rotations, not setting his team up to execute and in the C's case, not bringing the young players far enough along to be able to at least win a bit more than they did without Paul. Not making the playoffs.. ok fine injuries really did the team in. The probelm is, the C's were 10-13 when Paul went down. The team is still to young and too inexpericenced to be a consistent winner. Hence the need for a top 2 pick to get an imediate impact player and the need to trade a few players for a good to very good vet who's been in the playoffs. I think people were/are frustrated because this team didn't progress much save of Al until the final 1/4 of the year. I think the final 1/4 or so gave lots of ppl optimism with the development of Rondo and the continued improvement of Gomes. We'll all have to wait until next year to see if the improvement continues or not. Lots of bad teams have gone on good runs or looked good in the later stages of a year and then not been able to capture that chemistry at the start of the new year. (Warriors, Clippers, Hornets have all recently done this and flopped the following year)

If we get a top 2 pick and stay reasonably healthy, we'll be a a play-off team. IF we get a top 2 pick and IF we stay healthy and IF we can score a decent vet (cough Mike Bibby cough) via trade I think we can make some serious noise in the play-offs next year.

Yep, I strongly agree. And IF we play better defense, we will be competing for the Eastern Conference crown.

I see the team as making the playoffs if it stays reasonably healthy---regardless of new faces.
