at Boston Celtics (23-53) at Atlanta Hawks (28-49) Tuesday , April 10, 2007 • 7:00 PM ET Regular Season Game #77 • Road Game #39 Philips Arena - Atlanta, GeorgiaProbable StartersRondo/Ray/Green/Gomes/Perkins BenchPowe/Telfair/Pinkney InjuriesPierce - elbow - day to day Jefferson - knee - out West - ankle - day to day Allen - knee - out Ratliff - back - out Scalabrine - hamstring - out Szczerbiak - ankle - out Olowokandi - foot - out Player to WatchRondo is coming off a game where he came close to a quadruple double with Rajon Rondo: 14 Points, 8 Rebounds, 8 Assists, 7 Steals, 2 Turnovers in 40 minutes. It would be nice to see him continue this solid play. He has the ability to disrupt the other team's offense. Notes: Gomes took a hard fall in the Indiana game and will probably be sore. We are already at the league minimum of 8 players so either he will have to play or dress and sit on the bench. If he is still hurting we may see Powe get another start. He has the ability to take over a game. Notes: The Hawks are dropping quickly and are 2 and 8 in their last 10 games. They dropped an OT game to Philly on Sunday night.

Just wanted to let you know I won't be doing the play by play tonight because I have to go to my daughter's county choir concert. I'll have to tape it and watch it when I get home.

Several stats worth noticing. Green's 33 points. Powe's 18 poings and 6 OR. Could he be a new coming of Cornbread and Silas? Was he playing center?

Rondo looked incredible, and so did Gerald. I was surprised we didn't win this game.
Kevinn Pinkney shows us another trick--three point range. And I don't think it was luck. You can tell by the way he shot the ball from beyond the arc that he's capable of hitting them.

About all I got out of that game was that Telfair was woefully outplayed by Tyronne Lue and I am further down on Bassy. Then again, I worked late and was doing other things. Pinckney and Allan Ray both stink, too. Gerald Green was in the flow tonight and Powe played very well also.

I think Ray is okay Q, but he's not one to hold on to if it means forsaking out future. Too inconsistent.

next year, after injuries healed, Ray would be about the 5th option at the 2.

Yeah, Ray would be miserable here, like you said ferbo because he wouldnt be an option and would not see playing time. We best let him go somewhere else where he be put to use. I say dump Telfair as well. Doc wants him to be pass first, playmaker. He's a slashing PG looking to score first. We dont need that considering he cant even score effectively.

Let me defend these two guys. First of all, even Rondo has trouble guarding his man after a pick. Our bigs should switch on picks to cover the PG after the pick, but right now, we're playing a step too slow. We're going to have to figure something out because that sort of defense simply isn't working.
As for Ray--he's a streaky shooter for sure. But with more experience and development, he'll be a lot more consistent. Hard to get down on a rookie who nearly shoots 40% from beyond the arc. This kid can flat out shoot the ball and that's an important weapon to have.

I think GG is shooting better and Gomes is catching up. Wally can shoot. PP can shoot. West can shoot. Scala can even shoot a little, which I think is one thing that was helping him get minutes over Powe, so Ray will probably have to bring a little more to the table than shooting.
