Both teams are putting out an excellent effort on defense. It is too bad that the Celtics could not start this sooner. But at least there is hope to pull one out of here.

Great Celtics defense out there. And I wonder what happened to Kevin Martin out there? I see there is another team that has trouble finishing the games. Let's see what Boston can do in the last 1:37.

Celtics inbound on the side. Celtics have just one time out left. Scal is in. Artest steals the ball from Al inside. Martin misses and PP rebounds. Rondo misses a runner in the lane. gets the rebound. Misses again. there is a scramble for the ball and it goes out off Boston. Salmons misses a 3 and Artest rebounds. Martin misses from the corner and West rebounds. He stops at the 3 point line and shoots an airball as Salmons gets a piece of it. It looked like he was fouled but no call.

Its not a good loss. We should have won this game, but Doc blew it. Why does he play that ineffective starting lineup anyways?

Its not a good loss. We should have won this game, but Doc blew it. Why does he play that ineffective starting lineup anyways? Because Brian Scalabrine has an A brain type, Derren. I don't necessarily agree that we should have won the game. I think Sacremento should have completely blown us out. But the fact the Celtics made it a close game with an opportunity to win is a testament that despite Doc Rivers, the players are competitive and passionate about their basketball. With a new coach, I think the team can turn it around and at least win 35-40 games next year and it won't be enough to satisfy Paul Pierce.

I actually appreciate what Scal has been doing on the court, but Doc has to play him in moderation. Certainly not start him.
I think we should have won this game. The starting lineup he put out there hurt us badly. It was the second unit who pulled us through each time. Had he played the unit in which Rajon and Telfair ran the show, with Delonte sliding over to the 2, we wouldn't have fallen so far behind the Kings. We spent a lot of energy making our comebacks. If Doc made the moves before we fell so deep into hole, we very well would have had a lead.

Unfortunately, P2 opened up his potty mouth, and Artest closed it. P2 cost the team the game. You would think he learned his lesson from the NJ playoff series.
