Nice Montross picture!
Another Boston big man who couldn't make it because of injuries.
If Perk keeps playing injured, he'll end up like that!

Perk said that if the docs told him to shut down he would. At the time the amount that he is playing won't make it worse. I don't think it is a matter of being smart or stupid. I think he is a tough kid who just wants to play. He works hard and if the doctors told him he would be risking further injury he would sit out.

bostonballin I don't know why I fell in love with Montross. I just did. I think it's cause he was sort of the first ever Final Four I could remember and I thought he'd be awesome. Injuries definitely hurt him, but I think there might have been some other issues holding him back. If he were coming out in the draft today as a freshmen he'd be a top 10 pick, but as a senior he'd be late first round. He didn't have enough pword (potential. I hate that word and I generally refuse to use it).

Thanks for starting a thread bballin... Good to have you here. I would have to fall in line with FL on this one. Sounds like injured players need to be shut down if they have longterm "potential" issues. Any competitive player, or most, wants to be in the action. It needs to come from the docs to save them from this need to prefrorm. It's all best if they are all on the same page.

Since I had the same injury, plantar fas/post tib tendonitis, he needs to get a cortizone shot and customer made orthodics. Really. It took me 2+ years to rid myself of this issue. However, I have 10 years on the guy.

BostonBallin, I don't know if I'd use the adjective stupid to describle what Perk is doing by playing hurt. I think its a fitting description to call him a trooper who is following orders from his general. I think Doc wasn't wise for playing Perk when Perk was still hurting--maybe you can call that stupid.
