I do understand what you mean. As a fan, you hate to see your team lose and be the laughing stock of the league.
But my thinking is, we have to let our kids play and develop sooner, rather than later, and what better time to use a year of development than this year, when our losing record could land us a stud player.
If Pierce and Wally weren't injured, we wouldn't have seen Tony Allen have his breakout, and Gerald would be lucky to get even 10 mpg.
If Perkins wasn't injured, Doc would have continued to use Perk and Gomes as our starting 5 and 4, and who knows if Jefferson would have grown as quickly as he has this season, and have all those double doubles.
I can stand the losing this season because I can see development out of the young kids (Jefferson, Gerald, Rajon, Gomes, Tony). It would be fantastic if we could be a .500 team and have the kids develop at the same rate, but it usually doesn't work that way.
Development and the chance to land Oden or Durant (and there are some good consolation prizes aside from those 2) make me alright with all the losses we're accumulating. I know we'll be better down the road for it.
