One thing maybe some of you missed is that in the last couple seconds after Powe missed his jumper the Bucks tried to score one last time in the last 5 seconds just to pad stats and make it look less bad. Powe was there and he blocked em. He wouldn't even let em score even though the Celts were up more than 20 points.

I'm taking Mrs Q out to dinner, I will not watch tonights game. Have fun. I did watch the 2nd half and the Celtics played very well tonight and deserved to win. But as Milwaukee was flying in after playing the night before, we should have won this by a mile. So the Celtics finally took care of business and won at home for the 1st time in two months. We'll see if progress is made after the break. I'll smoke a victory cigar.

We still need an NBA coach that stresses defense.

Nice to know they won't spend the entire all-star break answering questions about the streak. Hopefully, guys like Perkins, West, and even Wally can rest up and come out strong the second half.
Rack up another double-double for Al, and a win at long last for the Celtics!

I know Im Mr. "Losses = Good" guy, but this was a nice win. At least we'll be out of the spotlight for a while. Now I hope we go on to loss some hard-fought games after the all-star break.

I would love to beat LA, or anyone for that matter. My fear in losing too many times, and my relief in not tying or surpassing the all-time losing streak, is my fear of the "imperfect storm" : We lose so many games that our young players lose all confidence, Pierce is so disgruntled he wants out, and even if we get Odom or Durante (keeping in mind, even with the worst record, our shot at pick #1 or 2 is < 50%) either one would face the enormous pressure of being an immediate savior and will be coming in knowing that our resident star wished he had been traded for a veteran.
I suppose after 1997, I lack sufficient faith in the ping-pong balls to save us, and would prefer to see true advancement in our players' development and in team chemistry. It is a deep draft, and ending out of the top three could still get us a solid addition. IMO better to have our current players playing well and add a solid addition than have our current players hit rock bottom and either miss out on Durant or Odom anyway or have one of them come in and feel they have to be everything right away.

Mev, are you in favor of trading for a veteran (ala Gasol)? or would you rather take a chance with the ping pong balls and see who we can get?

I'd like to see where we land in the lottery before deciding to trade the pick. It is a deep enough draft that we can package a #3-5 overall pick with some of our young talent + Theo's contract for someone to help us next year. Or we can keep the pick wherever it ends up and trade whichever current young player becomes expendable due to our high pick coming in.
I'm just explaining why I still keep rooting for victories -- I would rather have our young players learn to win than put all my hope in landing Oden or Durante.
