at Los Angeles Lakers at Boston Celtics Wednesday January 31 7:30 PM Eastern time TD Banknorth Garden Probable StartersWest/Green/Perkins/Jefferson/Gomes Key Bench Players[/img] Szczerbiak/Rondo Injuries*Paul Pierce foot (out) *Theo Ratliff back (out) *Tony Allen knee (out) Probable StartersParker/Bryant/Bynum/Odom/Radmanovic Key Bench PlayersTuriaf/Walton InjuriesKwame Brown ankle (out) Chris Mihm ankle (out) Key Matchup vs Kobe was suspended for the Knicks game and so he is coming back plenty mad and rested, even though the rest of the team is playing back to back games, just as we are. This can mean trouble for the Celtics if he really gets going on us. Keys to the Game Play 48 minutes We play a good half or a good 3 quarters and then go for a quarter where we can't hit a shot and can't defend. We have to stop losing focus and letting the other teams take us out of our game with zone defenses and increased pressure. Cut down on turnovers We have to stop turning the ball over so much. 20+ turnovers a night is way too much. We have to take care of the ball, stop making lazy passes, and keep our focus (no travels, offensive fouls, palming, etc) In spite of the reported team meeting and the vow to beat the Pacers we still committed 22 turnovers. We just can't win giving up the ball that many times. Hit our shots We have shot a pitiful percent in our last few games. and during our lost quarters shoot even worse. We have to hit shots. We have player who can shoot (West, Green, Gomes, Al, Wally) but they have to focus and hit those shots as most of them have been missing more than they have been hitting lately. We scored a pitiful 13 points in each of the 2nd and 3rd quarters against the Pacers. We can't win if we don't score some points. Control the Paint We can't let them get to the basket at will and get uncontested layups and second and third chances. We have to defend the basket and rebound. Playing Powe would help but for some unknown reason, Doc keeps him on the bench.

I expect a 40 point !!!GREENIAC!!! whipping and Doc Rivers to be handed his walking papers tomorrow night after the game.
Kobe Bryant served a 1 game suspension and the Knicks beat LA in MSG so they will not lose tomorrow night. I guarnetee it.

I expect a 40 point !!!GREENIAC!!! whipping and Doc Rivers to be handed his walking papers tomorrow night after the game. Doc isn't going to be fired this season as long as we have a chance at Oden/Durant. This is a quote from an article in the Concord Monitor It is very obvious that Doc isn't a good coach but Danny has steadfastly stood behind him. Danny has said even if they don't win another game this season, Doc is going to stay the coach. Danny has to realize that Doc is not a good coach. He is ruining the confidence of several of our players and continues to make bad moves in games. Case in point is putting Ray into the game on Granger and leaving him there for around 4 minutes in the second when the Pacers were able to turn it around by exploiting that mismatch just about every time down. Another thing is keeping Powe on the bench when we desperately need toughness inside. The only reason Danny would stand behind him is hoping that he will continue losing, which he probably will.

Well FlCeltFan - I'm done out the green kool-aid and I have a lot of work on my plate and it is snowing in Kansas. I'll watch the 2nd half out of force of habit. Knowing our putrid luck, David Stern will run a tanking investigation on our team and confisgate our draft choice and the right to draft Greg Oden if we win the lottery.

Doc said that Green is going to start out guarding Kobe with some help. I would think Gomes may do a good job as he has done a good job on some other scorers in the past. Lakers win the tip. Celtics turn it over and Parker takes it strong to the hoop and lays it in and draws the foul on Green. He hits the FT. Al has his shot blocked on the baseline by Kobe who steps out of bounds with it. Celtics inbound with 11 on the SC. Green misses a jumper. Kobe with the rebound. Vlad gets the ball under the basket and lays it in. West drives to the basket and kicks it out to Gomes who hits a jumper. Parker hits a 3. West misses a layup. Lakers rebound. Lakers miss a jumper and Celtics rebound. Gomes hits a jumper. Odom takes it at Gomes and draws the foul. He hits both FTs. Perk gets the inbound pass and brings it up the floor (scary) and Perk is fouled. Celtics inbound on the side. Gomes misses a jumper. Vlad rebounds. Al takes it away. Perk backs into the lane and hits a hook shot. Al with a block and Green saves it from going out of bounds. Green takes it to the basket and is fouled by Vlad. Green hits both FTs. Celtics extend the pressure into the back court. Evans hits a jumper off the catch. Green hits a turn around jumper. Parker misses a 3 but Bynum gets the rebound and put back. West throws one up and Al misses the tip. Lakers rebound. Parker takes it down the lane and lays it in. Perk turns and shoots on the baseline and is fouled by Bynum. Time out with Lakers up 23 -16 and 4:36 left in the 1st

Hi FL, I got off work at a decent hour and decided to drop in for some commentary. Right now the Celtics simply appeared overmatched and West is one and half steps too slow.
Perkins got going on the blocks and Gerald Green and Gomes are active.

Perkins got going on the blocks and Gerald Green and Gomes are active. Glad you dropped in Q. I always enjoy your take on the game. Green played very well in his 9 minutes. Perk is playing well too. With Wally coming in for Green, I hope Gomes guards Kobe and not Wally or we are in deep trouble.

Q at the qtr - Lakers have established a ten point lead. Kobe made two tough outside shots - not much you can do about those. (It helps the Wheatshocker Fantasy Team, though). The clock is running on the Celtics being more than ten points behind.

Jefferson is having the worst time scoring. Sczczerbiak has not taken any shots. Green is doing OK. Rondo is playing cautious (That is a good thing).
