Kevin Durant would be the #1 pick in the draft if Greg Oden wasn't coming out. He's that good and that scary of a player, and his potential is sky high. Everytime I watch this kid play nowadays, I'm just shoked at how good he can be.
I know we all love Gerald Green and are expecting big things from him as well. But if the opportunity arose, where we could land Durant if we gave up Gerald, would you folks do it?

In a heartbeat. Any GM worth his salt would do that trade.

Yes. Durant is going to be a superstar. I don't see Gerald ever reaching that level. I think Gerald will be a borderline allstar type ala Reggie Lewis, Rip Hamilton, along those lines. Why have a poor man's tracy mcgrady, when you can have tracy mcgrady and probably better.

On a side note, I'm really excited to see what Ainge does this draft. I hope in a way he is keeping an open mind and noone is untradeable and he plays all his cards. Imagine if we could somehow land 2 players in the top of this draft? I know I'm dreaming but if he could somehow pull a Red here. I know the C's are young and talented but we are missing those dominant young players. If we could somehow get an absolute stud or two out of this draft. I know it's unrealistic, but we are going to have a high pick as it is. I wouldn't hesitate to trade Jefferson, Green, Pierce, noone is untouchable if we could land Oden and Durant. Say hypothetically we end up with the #1 or #2 pick. Would you trade Jefferson and Pierce or Jefferson and Green for the #2? I would..

I think Ainge understands the trading bu siness, since he himself was traded.
Taking big over not so big has historically been an approach which works. Except when the not-so-big was Jordan. That of course does not hold true as the choice is farther from the top.

CF, don't get me all worked up like this, man!!! My mouth salivates thinking about Oden and Durant on the same team. Wow!!! And if we can retain Jefferson---boy oh boy!!!

I just don't think anyone would give us Durant for GG. Not str8 up anyway. Also I want to point out that the Bulls traded Brand for the ability to draft Curry and Chandler. That didn't work out too well. Both players are on other teams now. I wouldn't trade AL J for Durant. Oden yes. Durant and all that sucks-right-now (remember that?), no.

That Chicago trade definitely didn't turn out like planned. But it was the right idea. I look at Eddie Curry and I see a world of talent, but as we have come to find out, he has no heart and no desire. As for Chandler, he's got a lot of talent too, but he hasn't figured out how to put it all together.

The "brand" trade for the rights to Chandler, it was one of the biggest busts of all-time. Anyways, back on the topic at hand, we won't have to worry about trading G2 for Durant, because the win-loss record will gain us the right to draft Durant.

No general manager in his right mind would trade the #2 pick for Gerald Green. You'd have a tough time getting a top 10 pick this year for Green. GMs are going ape over this draft.

Why have a poor man's tracy mcgrady, when you can have tracy mcgrady and probably better. If I had to guess where GG ends up, I see him as a Desmond Mason type player. A physical freak that can fill it up, but doesnt have the skill-set to become a 25ppg guy. Watching Green, you can see that handling the ball doesnt come all that natural to him. Hes going to have to work if he ever wants to be able to take guys off the dribble on a regular basis.

Nah, Green is going to be better than a Desmon Mason type. He won't reach McGrady's level, but possibly Maggette's level.
Green is showing big steps toward being a good catch and shoot guy off the curl. When he's not rushing it, he's pretty accurate and smooth.
Gerald's problems right now is with his dribbling and with his footwork--two things that can be worked on during the offseason. He's starting to drive to the paint a bit more now, but he's at the stage where Tony Allen was at the beginning of the season--every penetration leads to a turnover. And like Tony, who finally figured out how to avoid the offensive charges, Gerald will also figure it out in time.
Fresh, no team would trade the #2 pick for Gerald, but they may accept a trade for the 4th overall pick and Gerald for the #2.

Fresh, no team would trade the #2 pick for Gerald, but they may accept a trade for the 4th overall pick and Gerald for the #2. Unless things change a lot leading up to the draft(which they prolly will), I dont think any team would even consider that offer. Right now the drop-off from the 2nd spot to the third spot is huge. A lot of years Durant would be a sure-fire #1. No other talent in this draft(besides oden of course) looks to be slam-dunk prospect like Durant/ Think of this way- Would you want Danny to accept trade that had us giving the #2 ofer to Portland for the #4 and Martell Webster?

I might trade Paul Pierce and the #4 for the #2 or #1. Not Gerald Green, though.
I like the combination of Gerald Green, Tony Allen, Rondo, Jefferson and Oden.

If I were a gm I'd never trade Oden for PP and Noah or hawes or Horford. Durant, mayyyyyybe. I'd probably send some salary back
