Players to Watch
Big Al has been putting up good numbers and they will be needed against San Antonio's big front line
Gomes had a career high in points in his last game and is finally back to playing well. We will need his offense and defense against a very talented Spurs team.
Doc has said that Rondo has overtaken Telfair on the depth chart. He has been playing very well and we will need his speed and defense against a very talented Tony Parker.
PG-Parker PPG 19.4 | APG 5.6 | SPG 1
SG-Ginobli PPG 16.5 | APG 3.4 | 3P% .423
C-Horry PPG 3.9 | RPG 3.8 | BPG 0.7
PF-Duncan PPG 19.9 | RPG 10.4 | BPG 2.1
SF-Bowen PPG 7 | RPG 2.6 | APG 1.5
Off the Bench
Finley, Barry, Oberto, Udrih, Vaughn, Williams, Butler
Injuries
Elson, Shoulder day to day
Matt Bonner, Knee out
Players to Watch
Duncan is their star and is coming off a 17 point, 15 rebound game against Philly.
Parker runs the offense and when he gets going the Spurs are hard to beat. We need to defend him and keep him from getting into the flow
Brent Barry always has a good game against us. We have to defend him on the perimeter. He scored 23 in the win at Philly.
Key Matchup
vs
Al has proven that he can play and going against Duncan who is one of the best in the game will be a good test for him.
Keys to the Game
Defense - There is no way we will outscore the Spurs and so we have got to get stops and keep them from scoring.
Focus - Spurs are known as a defensive team. We tend to lose our focus when teams play tough defense against us and so we have to keep our focus and play through the traps.
Team Ball We see the cohesiveness in spurts and we have to learn to play team ball for entire games. Pass the ball, find the open man and work together
Tim Duncan has never lost to the Celtics. The Spurs have been struggling of late, but it seems that it only takes a game against the Celtics to make a team get over their struggles. We can only hope that they will be tired from being on the road and playing back to back games and we can run and beat them with our young legs.
