I would argue that since none of our players are bronze medal guys that this move would make us eventual contenders, not instant contenders. If it does make us instant contenders I'd rather wait till we find out if we get Oden.

Chicago can offer the Knicks draft pick, PJ Brown, and Nocioni to get Pau Gasol and become EC favorites. Memphis would be very foolish to turn that one down.

My whole plan to get Gasol included the Warriors. But since they gave away their trading pieces to the Pacers, that shoots my idea out of the water. There's no way Memphis trades Gasol without us including either Gerald or Jefferson, possibly even both. No way. So we have to stick with our guns and just hope to land a big man this draft; either Oden, Noah, Hawes or Gray.

You don't usually think of such a young team being in a rebuilding mode, but I want to go into a rebuilding mode, but not during the season. I want a new coach and a new top draft pick and new starters starting next season, but not now. Gasol takes us further away from Oden and I'm not into that. Also next season Theo's contract will be valuable, but not this season. We have more to offer and may not need as much next season, but not this season. Also I think waiting might give Memphis the idea that we aren't stupid enough to trade away AL J for their leftovers.
