What was so ironic about the Pacer's game, in which Tony would tear up his knee, is that I had so much fun watching the game up to that point, and for the first time in many months, I was not yelling at Doc through the television screen.
First of all, the 1st quarter was absolutely encouraging. I don't know if Doc finally loosened the chains, but we were not running set play after set play. Telfair was finally allowed to run the team, and he had one of his best first quarters, and first halves, of the season. He had 3 early assists in the game and he was offsetting the defense by hitting elbow jumpers near the free throw line.
He and Tony were being ultra aggressive, taking it to the hoop and dishing passes off to open teammates, and they were keying the quick tempo for the team.
Tony was playing fabulously. I was salivating over our future with Tony and Gerald at the 2 and 3. Over the course of 2 - 3 weeks, no one could stop Tony's penetration--and this game was no exception. What a thrill it was watching him slash to the basket and hit deep kickout jumpers, and especially watching him swipe passes and come up with steals. His confidence has been soaring lately.
This game seemed so much freer than any game we've played in months and we were playing at a quick tempo. I was so encouraged with this game and the prospect of the next couple of games......
and then the dreaded knee injury took my breath away.
How ironic this game was.

I think we will try to free flow more with Bassy Ray Green and Rondo playing the backcourt.
Our defense will suffer greatly without Tony Allen, though and that could put Jefferson and Perkins in foul trouble.
We need to get some bodies on this team as we only can dress nine including Olowakandi.

Yeah, we will miss Tony quite a bit. He really helped our offense because he could often bail us out by creating his own points. And he was good for about 2 or 3 easy buckets off of steals.
I want Gerald to start attacking the basket the way Tony and Pierce are capable of doing, but right now, his footwork needs to be cleaner. He's constantly tripping and slipping. I don't know if its because he's dragging his feet and not picking them up high enough, or because he's forcing things. But I would like for him to work on this part of his game.
We need to start incorporating Jefferson more into the offense again. The past couple of games, we've gone away from feeding him in the post, and when we do, his touches are few and far between. He isn't given the opportunity to find his rhythm.

Does anyone think it was prelude, that Tony will be found guilty to the incident at the club?

No, I think indications are that he'll be found innocent. I honestly think that's one of the reasons Tony's game had a resurgence all of a sudden.
