The Celtics worked hard and hustled on both ends of the court and acquitted themselves well. Seems like that Rondo, Ray, Green, Powe, and Gomes was our best line-up out there.
Jefferson has been getting overmatched lately which is very discouraging. Perkins has been nothing special either.
Basically, Doc Rivers is still not getting the best out of his players and that has to be addressed at the end of the season.
Pierce, Sczerbiak, Scalabrine, and West sit in the jury box and watch the kids play.

Rondo and Powe get the Tommy Award. I just can't believe that Doc has buried both of these kids on the bench. Powe with 3 points, 3 steals and 12 rebounds in 16 minutes. Doc is even limiting his minutes now. Rondo was incredible tonight. 23 points 4 steals 5 assists. The kid is our best PG even as a rookie. Tommy was saying how Rondo has the highest basketball IQ of any players on the team.

The "tank" must be on. Ray, a whoa-ful 4/13. If Danny trades our #1 pick for peanuts, like last year, he should be fired.

Don't see that Runnynose. This next draft is too solid, from the sounds of things.

Well, I didn't see the rights to Randy Foye for Telfair either.

If it makes you feel better Foye isn't looking so great by any means. It's not like there is anyone that good for him to beat out in Minn either. We also traded Raef for Theo, and that was awesome. I don't see much positive in last nite's game. I don't think Nesterovich, Bosh, Bargnani, and Joey Graham should be able to come into our house and push around AL J, Perk, Gomes, Powe, and Kandi. It's things like that that make me doubt Al J. I'm also not happy about GG going 4 for 14, Bassy going 5 for 14, and Ray going 4 for 13. I also don't get AL J playing 28 minutes with 0 assists and 5 fouls. And GG having 6 TOs. We all wanted the young guys to get playing time. I hope they make a lot more out of it. The only ones that played well was Rondo and Gomes. And even though the refs didn't let Gomes play he held their starting sf to 0 points and bargnani to 4 of 13 shooting.

We lost the game, but not by much. A few key defensive stops and some timely buckets, and we could have taken this one. Toronto was a lot more experienced than us, but till the end we had a shot at pulling out a win. We just couldn't get over the hump.
Rajon was truly spectacular. If he ever develops a jumper like he had last night, he'll be one of the greatest Celtics PG's of all time. The kid is equipped with all the necessarily skills to be a stud PG (except the jumper), and he has the intangibles that put him ahead of many of the best PG's. The only thing holding him back is a jumper, and as we've seen last night, if he ever gains a consistent jumper, there's no stopping him.
Its quite disturbing to watch Doc ban Powe from playing significant minutes on the court. What more can a guy do to deserve staying out on the floor? He's rebounding, hustling, converting missed shots into putback scores, running the floor, etc. But still that's not enough.
At least Doc is giving Allan Ray playing time. Ray is still having some bouts of nervousness out there, but I'm glad to see him pulling the trigger when he's open. His shots will start to fall soon, and he'll light up the floor with his perimeter shooting. Watch out for this kid.

I agree with your thoughts Derren! Rondo really has the tools to be a top PG in the league. He just has such good court awareness and has the skills you just can't teach. He worked on his shooting over the summer with Kevin Eastman and has been taking 100 shots before every game so he is working hard on his shot and I don't doubt that he is going to improve and take everyone by surprise but hitting shots just as he did last night. I believe that right now, even with a suspect shot, he is our best PG.
I also agree about Powe. The kid does nothing but good things when he gets on the court. He was one of the reasons that we got back into the game both times we came back. You can't run or score without the ball and he was hustling on defense to cause turnovers (and got 3 steals and he pulled down 12 rebounds... yet he got the fewest minutes of any of the players last night. I have no idea what Doc has against him but he needs to be playing.

Al seems to have lost it these past couple games. He looked lost out there and very hesitant making moves. Same with Green.

Well, I didn't see the rights to Randy Foye for Telfair either. If we hadnt made the Portland trade, Foye wouldnt have been available. Minny wouldve gobbled him up.

I'll tell you why Jefferson is lost out there; its because he's a forgotten man. He barely gets any touches and when he does, he so far out of position that he either has to give the ball up or work really hard just to get close enough to get a shot off (and when he does this, he usually forces the issue).
Granted, Jefferson can't let his offense dictate what he does on defense and on the boards. He still needs to get into the mindset of being a monstrous rebounder and defensive player when he can't be a factor on the offensive end.
But as a young player in development, his offense is what drives his game, and that's why he's lost out there right now.
