Boston Celtics (12-20) at Orlando Magic (20-14)

Amway Arena (formerly Orlando Arena)
The Celtics take on the Magic in their second of four meetings this season…The Magic currently lead the season series, 1-0…In 2005-06 the Magic won the season series, 3-1.
The first meeting was 11/13/06 when the Magic won 92-89.
Nickname:
Named after the legendary Original Celtics, which played as a barnstorming team and in the ABL during the 1920s and 1930s, and in hope of attracting fans from the city's large Irish population.
Probable Starters:
PG: Delonte West PPG 9 | APG 3.5 | 3P% .375
SG: Tony Allen PPG 10.9 | APG 1.6 | 3P% .250
SF: Wally Szczerbiak PPG 17 | RPG 3.7 | APG 1.9
PF: Ryan Gomes PPG 11 | RPG 5.9 | BPG 0.2
C: Al Jefferson PPG 13.6 | RPG 9.8 | BPG 1.4
Off the bench:
Brian Scalabrine, Kendrick Perkins, Sebastian Telfair, Gerald Green, Rajon Rondo
Coach
Doc Rivers
Injury Report:
Theo Ratliff Sore Lower Back Out
Paul Pierce Left Foot Stress Reaction Out
Delonte West Low Back Spasms expected to play
Al Jefferson sore hamstring expected to play
Players to Watch:
Tony has been playing on another level lately and his defensive play sets the tone for the team.
Perk played his best game since coming back from the foot injury. He was a beast inside and we will need that if we are to contain Dwight Howard
Delonte has been playing valiantly. Against the Grizzlies he had 11 assists but went down in the 3rd quarter clutching his back and was unable to get up for some time. He also had trouble getting up from a fall against the Warriors. But he came back to finish strong in both games. We have to hope that he won't do more harm to his back that will keep him out for an extended period.
Wally seemed to get his shooting touch back against the Grizzlies. Hopefully he will continue shooting the ball well and not turn in another 20% shooting night.
Nickname:
Named Orlando Magic following a contest beating out Juice, Heat and Tropics.

PG - Jameer Nelson PPG 13.6 | APG 4.1 | SPG 1.1

Grant Hill – sore left foot; day-to-day
Players to Watch
Dwight Howard is one of the best big men in the league. It will take a great game from both Perk and Al to contain him.
Jameer Nelson always plays very well against us. Hopefully Delonte's back won't keep him from playing solid defense on him.
Darko had a good game against us and we will need to defend him as well as Howard.
Keys to the Game
Team ball. The Celtics played a complete team game against the Grizzlies. They need to continue playing as a team on both ends of the floor: passing the ball and finding the open man as well as playing solid team defense.
Focus: The Magic are a good defensive team and often we lose focus when a team defends us well. We need to keep our composure and not let defensive pressure take us out of the game.
Defense: Defense is the key to every game. We need to play solid team as well as individual defense. We have proved we can score, but we won't win if we can't get stops at the other end.
Wally and Al: With Pierce out, we need Wally to hit the outside shots so that teams can't double in the paint as easily. Hopefully his hot shooting from Friday will continue. We also need Al to be aggressive in the paint on both ends of the floor.
