They didn't call a foul. Delonte is still down. West gets up and is walking slowly off the court with help. He is heading directly to the locker room. Celtics inbound and Rondo brings it up quickly. Green gets inside on the baseline and lays it in. boykins misses and Al rebounds. Nuggets are trapping in the back court and it took them 5 seconds to get it across mid court. Celtics miss at the buzzer. Score at the half is Denver 57 and Boston 47.
West looked very shook up. I hope that is all and that he will be ok. We don't need any more injuries. Delonte was playing well tonight too. I must have heard the name Iverson or AI from these announcers 5000 times or more. Every other word was Iverson this AI that... UGH!! The whole first quarter Green got about 4 touches. They are doubling Al inside as soon as he touches the ball. Powe played very well in the 6 minutes he was in with 4 points, 2 rebounds and a block. I think Doc should play him more in the second half. He was very effective and I have no idea why Doc isn't playing him more.

Congratulations on your SuperMod status, flceltsfan12, and thank you for doing "holiday duty" on the play-by-play. I cannot put into words what you've added to this board.
It's a shame about West -- hopefully nothing that will cause a prolonged absence. Our guys again show they can score, but defense it still a work in progress.

Thanks Mev! It was back spasms that kept West out of much of training camp and the preseason. They said that he was having back spasms after the hard fall and so I doubt he will play tomorrow night. Hopefully it won't keep him out for a long time.

Alright, here are my comments on last night's game. Doc made terrible coaching decisions. Whatever lineup that worked last night, Doc immediately dismantled and sabotaged our chances of winning the game (and we actually had a shot to pull the game out, I thought). Delonte shouldn't have been playing PG and that can't be overstated (BTW, I feel for the guy. I was in pain watching him lay on his back. I'm hoping he recovers quickly). His shot was falling and Doc should have capitalized on that by setting him up for plays that would allow him to shoot more.
Foul trouble kept our rotation revolving, but Doc disrupted our flow more than anything. At one point, Telfair seemed to get back on track, but then Doc yanks him. And then Rajon finally gets a chance to play, and he does really well, and the team starts to make a comeback--and then Doc yanks him out
Powe was doing really well out there, and then he gets yanked. Gomes has been a disappointment lately, and I really wanted Powe out there because he played with more hustle and energy and he was making things happen. But Doc insists on taking away what works, and after putting the starters back in, we begin to play junk again and lose whatever momentum the 2nd unit built.

Karma to Derren. I agree 100% with everything you just said. I know Danny said we are stuck with Doc the rest of this season. I just hope Danny doesn't trade one of these kids before we get a coach who really knows how to coach and to get the most out of them.

I don't know if I'm happy to say it or ashamed, but something Derren said that is absolutely correct. And that's that almost every time if something is working Doc stops it. It's like clockwork. It's very predictable. Too predictable. In fact it happens so often it isn't random any more. I think one of two things is happening. Either Doc is tanking for some unkown reason. Maybe since he figures he's here for the season and they can't win a championship he thinks he'll tank and get a better draft pick cause he thinks he has a good relationship with DA (and I kinda think they do) or DA has told him to tank, or he is purposely affecting the outcome because (seriously now. It has happened before) there are some shenanigans going on on the side. Pete Rose did it. Would you be shocked if you found out Doc was doing it? I wouldn't.

The injuries certainly can't be used as an excuse for tanking, but Doc's coaching does give us the impression that he's trying to lose games now.
Rajon should be starting, not Delonte. Telfair has to work out some of his funk and in time, he'll once again start playing like he's capable of playing. But for now, something's up (either Telfair's butting heads with Doc and is now in his dog house or he's got some kind of injury that's not being publicized). Rajon came in and had back to back layups and then Doc pulls him out not long after that. I saw nothing in Rajon's game that warranted him to go back to the bench. He was not making mistakes (aside from a bad pass) or hurting us defensively. On the contrary, he was the one making things happen. He gave us a spark and the tide was beginning to shift. But Doc yanks him, and that had me boiling.

Well I think Doc is doing something kinda zhitty, but I don't know what.
