- 8:30. United Center, Chicago. TV - FSN New England. RADIO - WRKO-AM (680).
THE NUMBERS
4-0: Bulls sweep of the season series last year.
5: Straight Celtic losses to the Bulls overall.
11.5: Average margin of victory for Chicago last year vs. the C’s.
WHO’S HURT
For the C’s, Kendrick Perkins (left foot plantar fasciitis) and Paul Pierce (bruised right elbow) are probable, while Wally Szczerbiak (sprained left ankle), Theo Ratliff (back) and Michael Olowokandi (strained abdominal muscle) are out. For the Bulls, Adrian Griffin (strained right calf) is day-to-day.
WHO’S HOT
Pierce has made 8-of-15 3-pointers over the last three games.
WHO’S NOT
After scoring 12 points in a win over Indiana, Perkins has scored just 19 points total in seven games since.
BOTTOM LINE
The Celts will have to pick up the defensive intensity against a Chicago team that is finding its offensive stride. The reserves will have to step up if Pierce and Szczerbiak aren’t able to go.

Well, we are facing a solid defensive team who can also score in various ways, especially with quick penetrating guards who can attack from the perimeter (Gordon, Hinrich, Duhon, Deng) and also with big men who can do damage from the inside and outside (Nocioni, PJ Brown). Not exactly the easy winnable teams we'd want to pit us up against right now as we try to build our confidence, but I'm strangely optimistic that we can pull this out.
Our defense was horrible against Toronto, so it needs to be much crisper tonight.
Since we are talking about possibly making a trade with Chicago, it'll be good to scout and see which players we'd want from them. I have an interest in Ben Gordon--he's an instant scoring sparkplug off the bench for us.

We have Brian Scalabrine, the defensive whiz kid... what more could we need?

Delonte West is starting in place of Wally. Perk and Pierce are playing. Wally may be out Wednesday as well. We have the Celtics feed on LP tonight even though it is a road game and that is very good. I love Mike and Tommy and dislike most of the other announcers around the league.
In the pregame show they were talking about how we have to keep up the running game and that we are at our best when we run. Most of the highlights they were showing included Rondo... Yes, we are at our best when we are running and we run the best with Rondo at the point but yet Rondo sits on the bench. Some things are hard to figure out.
The Celtics and the Bulls are 1 and 2 in the league in 3 point shooting.

Bleh! I am not terribly optimistic at winning this game tonight. I just want them to play hard at both ends for 48 minutes and count the points at the end of the night. THe Bulls are coming on and playing well. We are not.

Bulls are faster and taller than the Celtics, this could get ugly real fast.

Pierce is completely bamboozled out there, Doc needs to pull him and try other combinations. Where is Wally Z tonight? Honestly, I don't think we can stay with this team. Where is our fine young talent tonight?

Celtics were thoroughly dominated at both ends of the court. They are extremely flat and frankly look disinterested in competing. BTW, exactly why would the Bulls be interested in Pierce? I would not trade Luol Deng for Paul Pierce straight up (never mind Deng and the Knicks pick).

We got to see a Powe-Jefferson-Greene-TA-Rondo lineup. That should make everyone happy.
