I got this from the Celtics List... Eric Weiss works for Draft Express and is privy to a lot of inside info. He was a guest on JB's CelticsStuff broadcast.
FYI: I heard from Eric Weiss on RealGM that the players offered up in the Iverson deal were/are: Wally Sz G. Green Rondo Gomes Philly wants Al Jeff instead of Gomes but Ainge held firm and so Billy King is seeing if he can snag a better offer around the league. I guess that means Ainge foresaw the following rotation: C - Perk, Ratliff PF - AlJ, Ratliff, (Powe) SF - Pierce, TonyA SG - Delonte, Iverson, TonyA PG - Iverson, Telfair

If Memphis and Atlanta are the only teams in the bidding, BK will not find any better offer than that.

That's a lot for just Iverson...

It sure is. If they want AL J so much I'd say fine, and then take out Gerald G and sub Powe for Gomes. Either that or Scala and Powe are getting a lot of playing time in that scenario. Or maybe we'd keep Brian Grant

No, can't do this trade. We must not trade away Gerald Green.

Atlanta is signing Speedy Claxton... I wonder if that will take them out of the running for the Iverson sweepstakes.

I'm not even sure I'd want to give up Rondo in this deal. I mean, of course Iverson is worth 10 Rajon Rondo's, but I really like this kid and hopes he can become a really terrific PG for us.
Either Ainge thinks its easier to replace good wing players (Gerald) than it is to replace big men (Jefferson). Either that or he thinks Jefferson has more star power than Gerald (I tend to look at it the other way).

I still can't help but think that the Iverson thing is a smoke screen. Danny NEVER tips his hand on possible trades. If anything he denies them emphatically but this one he has been all over. And then you have Billy King saying how the talkes are all over blown. Danny saying that he isn't going to trade away our future and the price has to be right and yet we see all these rumors and reports that he is offering Green and Gomes and Jefferson .... It just doesn't fit somehow.

I hope you are right, FL. I don't want to give up Gerald, Jefferson, or Rajon. You are right, Ainge doesn't usually tip his hand. He loses all his leverages that way. But what would be his motive to put up a smoke screen? I hope all our players rumored to be included in this deal know what's really going on. You don't want to be putting false thoughts into Wally's, Gerald's, Jefferson's, or Gomes' head.

I am hoping the "I" rumors are a smoke screen. Iverson is a good player, but not worth mortgaging every good draft, and trade we have had in the Danny era.

I hope the owners aren't pressing DA to fill seats. That's the only reason I can think of, for this AI to Boston crap.
I just can't see him in Green...

If this is the reason, look for Ainge to trade away all our good young talent and leave the team. If the owners are going to force his hand and make him do things he doesn't want to do, he's not going to stick around.

Right, BC. He and Al Jefferson are our future big time players. No way should Ainge trade either of these guys. It would kill me if they aren't in Boston.
Its so simple to see the obvious; you can either have a few good years to try and win a championship with Iverson and Pierce, or you can keep the team intact and have a dynasty for the next decade once the players develop and become rock solid.
