These are just the final nails in the coffin of this pathetic team. Boy, the wheels are sure coming off now. I dont think Paul will resign with us.

I really need to send you some green koolaid Sprash... I see this team as having a great deal of potential. We have been hampered by injuries and haven't really developed that chemistry... it is building but not quite there yet. I see good things for the future and even in the losses I see good things.... Tony Allen tonight was looking more like the Tony of last year and that is a good thing. Tony won the Tommy Award tonight. Perk continues to improve and is going to be a great center in this league. Gomes is showing that he can play. West is going to be a good PG and is proving he can play. I like this team. I like what they have the potential to become. They are playing hard and just aren't getting the breaks. That will change and I will be right there at the front of the bandwagon waiting for everyone else to jump back on.

This team reminds me of a Derreck Lowe catch phrase 'Mental midgets'. Thats what this team is. They are mentally weak, get rattled easily and just shoot themselves in the foot. Some of these guys have played collegiate ball under similar circumstances, and they still find ways to lose. I'm sorry, but sooner or later they have to grow up and start to win. Only for so long can you use the 'young team' excuse.

I agree 100% with this assessment. What we have seen this year is some of the individual pieces start to develop their games, but they have not been doing it together long enough to play consistently as a team yet. Add to that injuries, the trade that brought about new personnel, and the time it took for Doc to settle on a rotation and the process of forging into a team has been delayed that much more. I have to admit, I was very down after seeing that we lost this game to a bad Orlando team. We are still wildly inconsistent and are as likely to play horrible basketball as we are to play brilliantly. After the 8-4 start with Gomes I thought the team finally had arrived, but this recent 1-4 slide and horrible road trip just illustrates this team is not ready to maintain a consistently high level of play yet. But with time, they will get there. I've had to readjust my expectations and realize we will maybe win half of our remaining games this year, and struggle to win 40-42 games next year. I just can't see us gaining the consistency we will need to be a 50 win team by this coming November or December. Hopefully, by this time next year the team will have played together long enough that the individual pieces will finally merge into a consistent team, and by 2007-08 we will be ready to make a run at 50 games, and perhaps in 2008-09 or 2009-10 we will be contenders (with an addition or two plus our current core growing together). Remember, Pierce is only 28 and given how the likes of Nash and Cassell are playing this year, there is no reason to think Pierce can't continue to play at a high level for another 4 to 5 years, so the window is not nearly ready to close as some in the media seem to think. Keep the current core, let it grow, and supplement it with drafts/trades or maybe an MLE signing.

I did not watch the Celtics game - Instead I watched George Mason beat up on Michigan St. That was a good thing. Then I watched rising NCAA power Bradley beat Kansas. That makes it two wins for the MVC in this tournament. Today's big game is Wichita St vs Tennessee.
