Esco's thoughts on the game:
First of all, this loss was disappointing, but I didn't have the Celts pegged to win this game anyway like everyone else did. Memphis is a solid, talented team and they have a better bench than we do, plain and simple. The disappointment mostly comes from us not showing up on offense or on defense.
We got manhandled down low by a guy that most people can't even pronounce his last name. We played with no effort, very different than the team that has won in the past few weeks.
Our offense looked discombobulated the whole night. We are starting to become solely a jump shooting team which I dislike so much. They neglected to go to Perk and Big Al down low. We had no inside game and we are starting to shoot WAY too many 3's. Even if you shoot an open 3, it has less of a chance to go in than an open 2. We need to start feeding the ball to the post FIRST, then let it open up our shooters. We have people who can score on the blocks, (Perk, Al, Gomes) we just need to go to them early. Maybe that is why we definitely need to start Perk, then Raef can come off the bench and shoot his 3's.
We have no backup point guard. Tonight, our backup shooting guards were non-existent. Wally played okay.
Too many stupid turnovers.
I am still WAY positive about this team's play and I expect them to bounce back, but if they play only a few more games like this, the playoffs are out of the question.
This team is young. They just need to establish maintain consistency and they will be fine. Until they can do that, they will not be a force in the Eastern Conference.

We are going to set a new record for margin of defeat on TNT. I say, 75 points.

It wouldn't surprise me at all to see us bounce back and play a strong game against Miami. Memphis played well and we didn't. We aren't the type of team that can shoot below 40% and still win.
Kendrick had an un-Perkins like 3 boards in 25 minutes, plus only 3-9. Probably needs to get back his timing/get into game shape. Tough match-up for Gomes and Raef vs. Gasol and Tsakalidis, who has been playing very solid basketball as of late -- it's not just against us. We'll need more from Perkins and Jefferson to handle the Heat next game.

Memphis thoroughly drubbed us because we played very poorly in all facets of the game. Memphis was very sloppy, too but they out efforted us. That was a very bad game where we disappeared. I gave my Quinnie Award to Olowakandi (the future Chicago Bull?).
Chalk this one up to:
POOR ENERGY
