Doc's post game - started slowly did not match the Denver intensity - 2nd unit sparked them around the 1st qtr - Delonte was a bit Rusty - A lot of little things plus Ryan Gomes won the game. Very happy to win against a top 10 NBA team (Not so sure about that but they have been a hot club taking control of a bad division).
Zerby was outstanding tonight.
In numbers that lie - THe Celtics have won three games where they gave up over 100..... The Celtics, however have won 4 out of their last six road games. Roadies tell the truth. The Celtics also have not lost two in a row sice that six game losing streak.

Great analysis as always Q. This was a very good win for us. In spite of getting down early we came back and then stayed right with them for the second half. West did look a little rusty but played well overall. Perk looked like he didn't miss a step and I love the way he and Al play together. In 21 points, 6 rebounds, 7 points a block and an assist. Very good first game back only to get better and better. I would like Perk back in the starting linup with Gomes and Bring Raef (C) and Al (PF) off the bench. Gomes once again impressed me. He hustled and just showed great poise out there. 11 points and 11 rebounds. Tony looks like he is finally gaining his pre injury form and hit a couple of big 3s. Pierce once again came up big for us and continues to play at a super star level. I like what we have here and hopefully they can continue to put it together and get some wins on the upcoming road trip.

Great job both of you... As always, I could read your words and get a feel for the real game. Got to love how this team is comming together, injuries might have been a plus. Not sure I would ever think that could be the case.
Had a family birthday party to attend. Good to come home to a win.
BTW- My Hawkeyes won the Big10 tourny leading to an NCAA 3 seed... ;D Nice bball day for me.

To me, this game was a little weird. I thought we shot a low percentage because the offense looked a little confused a lot tonight (maybe it was just me). Then I saw we were shooting over 50%. We played no D at ALL on Miller and Boykins, and it just seemed as if they wanted it more. They seemed to get all the key rebounds, putbacks, steals, steals, and more steals, especially Boykins.
Although, we still somehow pulled it out. I am a little worried though because we have played so good with Perk out, I just hope that he can fit back in quickly and smoothly. He was playing great before he went down.
It seemed like they tried to go to him, but not as much. They probably were trying to work him in slowly. He had a bunch of those offensive fouls that he used to get. Hopefully it was just rust. I want to see him totally involved on defense AND offense because he can score down low. I would start him and Gomes together and bring Raef and Big Al off the bench, and I would like to see Al mostly at power forward, not at center. Regardless, we got the win, and it counts as a W in the record books. Nice shot by Pierce too at the end. (off glass again)
In a nutshell Pierce scored, Wally played smart, Gomes hustled, everyone else played supporting roles relatively well.

I'm not sure what makes me happier, the win or getting both West and Perkins back and playing productively for the minutes they played. I agree with keeping Gomes in the starting lineup; he's earned it plus why mess with something that has worked so well. I also think bringing Raef off the bench, in order to give the second unit a solid shooter, is a good idea.
Too bad Memphis lost to Philly ... maybe they'll do us the same favor.

Bench scoring was at one of its best levels of the year; maybe best.
Good to see the thought that Allen is looking more like last year. He could be a big help, esp. with Wally's leg.

One thing that I have noticed in the last 3 or 4 games is that Tony Allen seems to resemble the Tony Allen of last year. (i.e. great athletic plays, hustle, dunks, rebounds, blocks.) He seems to have a lot more lift. Athleticism is the one thing that Tony Allen needs in order to make an impact. Without it, he is just an average player.

I thought the entire game had no defense from either team and came down to two steals by us at the end. An awesome play by Wally and yet another riculous play by Gomes where he scratched Kenyon and he lost the ball, proving yet again that for some reason he is touched by God

I agree no defense was played. That's what Doc needs this team to work on in the off-season. But for now, this team can compete with anyone right now except San Antonio. Tim Duncan is still cursing this franchise.
