Ryan Gomes is the Tommy Award Winner! yet another career high in points with 29.
A lot of guys came up big tonight, though. Allen played well, Greene played well. Pierce had a great game. Raef with another double figure rebound night. All against all odds... Perk still out, West out. Al hobbling, Wally's knee was sore coming into the game. They just never give up!!!

I have assumed that next year AJ wouild take over at the 4 and Gomes maybe make a nice backup. Now I'm not so sure. I'm more surprised at his rebounding than his scoring.

Good to see you eddietours! The Celtics are playing great. Nice to see them pull out another close game against a team they are trying to catch. If we can get healthy, look out! Only 3.5 games out of the 8th seed, and only 4.5 out of the 6th seed.
And you're right, C17, summer league is only for 1st and 2nd year players, so AJ and T. Allen are done with summer league.

i think everyone can go to the summerleague, regardless of their experience. just like allan houston did with the knicks some years ago to test his recuperation from injury. usually there's just no point of doing that

Iverson made 10 of 31 FG attempts. Sounds like someone was playing decent defense.

Wonder if the Cs will ask Gomes to bulk up some to be stronger to play the 4?

Woah! The Celtics pulled another one outta the fire last night.
How about this Gomes kid - putting up monster numbers as the "Backup" PF. He has my vote as Rookie of the Year. Poor Jefferson might have to be traded - just kidding - I think he has a lot of talent - but those ankles could be a limitation.
Also not mentioned is the fine work of Raef LaFrentz who I think is playing a lot more agressive at the back end, and is rebounding, shotblocking, passing and scoring. His work is not getting a lot of mention but the complaints about his salary have ceased.
On Iverson's 10 for 31, a lot of that was Tony Allen and Orien Green working on him. Chris Webber's star seems to have fallen dramatically. Heck he was not out there at crunch time. Dalambert and Hunter were.
I guess we need West and Perkins back and say screw Secaucus and bring on Detriot, Miami, or New Jersey in the last week of next month.

3.5 games behind 8th seed.
Lets keeping pushing it especially when we have West and Perkins coming back soon. Very nice win tonight and good work by Gomes/Pierce once again.

I am almost positive anyone can go to the summer league cause there's this one guy that goes like every year to keep proving himself. Bruson?

There's some difference as I recall between roster and non-roster people. Latter can go anhytime. Think someone was right about roster guys only being first or second year players.
My question is whether that means AFTER the second year, or BEFORE the second year.
