The announcers were talking about what a steal in the draft Gomes was. His line tonight.... 13 points... 17 rebounds (7 offensive)... 4 assists.... 2 steals and only 1 turnover...... Ya gotta love this kid. Green didn't look all that great in his few minutes tonight. He looked like he was trying too hard. Wally looked pretty good as did Raef. PP had a good game. West had a good game although he didn't look for his offense tonight.

Hi! Worked very late then went out to dinner. Got home at the half. The Celtics played an efficient game and wore down a game Portland club. Ryan Gomes, Paul Pierce, and Wally Z were all very good tonight as the Celtics go 2 and 1 on this road trip. Trading out Ruben Patterson unconvered Martell Webster and gave Portland lots of energy. I suspect they will give their foes a lot of trouble down the stretch. Portland announcers were irritating most of the night but I have to give them a Quinnie point for observing that the trade of Mark Blount to Minnesota (who lost another close home game to Denver - a familier theme), uncovered guys like Ryan Gomes while shedding salary. They also said Portland was trying to follow Boston's pattern of stripping out old veterans that were overpriced and could only get you eliminated in the 1st round in favor of young talent to gell into a team ready to compete as the Detriots, San Antonios, and Dallas' go by the wayside. We will be staring up at Pheonix in 2008, I feel. Good game and another preview of the 2012 NBA Finals

Sign that Gomes guy up for my fantasy team. The boy can play. We might have to trade out Al Jefferson to make room for this kid

Orien Greene had solid numbers off the bench, with 4 assists and 2 steals to only one turnover. And needless to say, Pierce, Wally and Gomes were terrific.
One way you can see we miss Perk and Al: our only blocked shots came from West, Pierce and Wally (1 each). Gomes is terrific, but we need more height defensively in the paint.
The Lakers lost to the Clippers tonight by double-digits; hopefully we can take 3 of 4 on this road trip, though given how short handed we are and the fact we were only 4-20 on the road at the all-star break, I would not complain about a 2-2 road trip given our injuries.

I just checked out the box scores this morning. 17 rebounds for Gomes! True that the Blazers were undermanned, but grabbing 17 rebounds is no small feat. I am glad Gomes can now have a chance to show what he can do, and he has a lot more confidence it seems since being inserted into the starting lineup, escpecially on the boards his tenacity has increased. Let's hope this keeps up. When Al gets back, Gomes stays in the starting lineup, esco says.
Wally had a good night offensively. He was looking for his shot the most that I have seen since the trade, probably since there was a mismatch on him most of the night. He was posting everybody up. 3-5 from 3 pt land is good.
Pierce was great once again, all-around with the points, rebounds, and assists.
I think this team is FINALLY starting to come around a little. The chemistry is getting there. Granted most of our recent wins have come from weak teams, but we have also put up some valiant efforts against some solid teams as well (Cavs, Suns).
When Perk and Al come back, it will only add to our bench depth.
