Gordon Hayward retired today. Definitely one of the bigger "What Ifs?" in recent Celtics history. Dude signs a max deal, excitement is high, then he destroys his foot 5 minutes into his first game. We got a little glimpse of what he was capable of during the 19-20 season, but he was never the same. Dude struggled with injuries the rest of his career.

The only thing I remember about Gordon's time with us is his first-ever game where he broke his leg. Besides Shaun Livingston's who is obviously [HASH]1 worst NBA leg break shown on TV, Haywards comes in [HASH]2 for me all time. Just gruesome and tragic. He was never the same. I suppose Paul George is up there as well. www.nba.com/news/gordon-hayward-retires-nba

I still have a ton of hope he stays in shape so he can come back late in the season for us similar to what PJ Brown did.

I'd like to see that.
