Woj is reporting that George will sign a multi-year deal with the Sixers, giving them a nice Big 3. Not sure it's enough to challenge us, but it makes the East a little tougher, and Embiid happier I'm sure.

UGLY! PG is about to be on the wrong side of 34. Sixer's max contract a guy who is more streaky than cheap window cleaner. On paper, it gives the illusion they did something the offseason. It's like Durant on the Suns. Really looks good for promos and gives fans false hope in the playoffs. All that being said, PG is almost career 50, 40, 90 club. Last year he had some career numbers and still has a lot of value. $212 million though? Im going to look at it this way, it's his last big bag before retirement. Solid career but he gotta go. Also, how bad does this look for the Clips? They just got Harden to put around PG, Westbrook and Kawhi. That team is officially BLOWN UP! If I were Harden, I would probably consider retiring. He had his worst season since his 3rd year in the L. I am looking forward to closing the Beard chapter.

On paper both the Knicks and 76ers got better. But, as they say, the games aren't played on paper. For one thing, who knows how the chemistry will go in Philly. Maxey is a budding star and will be looking to be the [HASH]1 on the team as he was last season. Embiid wants to be MVP and has never been the type to sacrifice for the team.
And PG has averaged under 60 games per season, and that includes a 74 game last season. Will PG want to be the [HASH]3 on the team behind Embiid. Will Embiid settle for 3rd behind Maxey and George? PG may find out what Horford did...it's not all that easy to play in Philly with Embiid. They also lost Tobias Harris who has been key for them in recent years. They signed Andre Drummond, who probably is a net neutral for them. He may add some rebounding and rim protection but isn't really a difference maker.
And New York gave up pretty much every draft asset they had to trade for Mikal Bridges. He will make them better. They resigned Anunoby who made them better when he played after the trade. In his last 4 seasons, he has played 43,48,67 and 50 games. So, if he can stay on the court, good for them, but he has had trouble staying healthy his entire career. The Knicks also lost Hartenstein and that is a big loss for them. He was a key player for them. So, again, on paper, they are better but they don't play on paper.
OKC is better. Clippers are worse. Lakers are who knows what. There is still a lot to shake out in this off season.

We just need to worrt about ourself. If we're doing the right things and winning the margins (as Mazzula likes to say), we're title bound.

Clippers are worse. Lakers are who knows what. There is still a lot to shake out in this off season. I think we can all see that there is a lot happening around the L. That overall the East is getting stronger as players go from " I would never play there -insert east coast team name here-". To, "Well I've never played there and so far it hasn't ever worked out wherever I've been before and hey this team has money and relevance." There is no denying parity is sorting itself out. The West wasn't as strong as some would've led us to believe this past year and looking worse for them this offseason. At least, with teams aging poorly and not named the Wolves or Thunder. East hasn't just been a cake walk either as the heads liked to claim. Was that debatable? Of course. But certainly not now with this offseason unfolding as it is so far. As Derren mentioned, nothing we should be worrying about as we stay focused on our gameplan, but important nonetheless to point out the way the league is starting to flesh out, we are obviously gonna have a tougher path as we see more impact players flee the sinking West to join teams with a chance of stopping us out of the East. As well as, some of these ringless vets jumping ship for all these reasons but mostly a quick ticket to a ring. Even the Nugz lost KCP to Orlando. Who, btw, are quietly building an OKC of the East. Total sleeper team if you ask me. Orlando has length, size, youth, talent, outside, 3 and D, 5 out rotation and they've amassed assets under everyone's noses. Because everyone is worried about NY, Philly, and Indy. If they find a couple right missing pieces and figure out elite D....scary!

Oh and on a side note
Seems LBJ wants to resign with the Takers for a substantial discount so he can play with his son, have JJ Reddick as the coach he can boss around, and then sign Klay Thompson.
Any one else liking the stellar moves the La La's are making?

Not a big fan of the coaching hire. No coaching experience at all, but he may surprise me. Klay went to the Mavs so LA won't get him. It'll be interesting to see how their roster fills out.

I don't know how to feel about Klay to Mavs. If I am Dallas I don't do it. Regardless if you could eek out 20 mins or less from his shooting. Stick a fork in him. I would've preferred the Cake-Show get him so they can further toil in mediocrity. Oh well.

Sounds like talking heads are starting to think PHI can upseat us.
Yes, they've upgraded their roster, and we remain largely the same. But we're going to be a well oiled machine, and I'm expecting more contribution from Pritch, Howzah, and X.

I like Philly's team, but they are paper thin, especially at forward. Guard depth is good, assuming you can get some quality backup minutes out of Kyle Lowry. But they are gonna have to hit the waiver wire for a vet min forward.

Speaking of paper-thin, Philly looks great on paper.
Thats it.

Philly brought in Paul George and Caleb Martin but lost Tobias Harris and Buddy Hield, then Joel went to the Olympics.
I don't see the upgrade.
The Knicks I see the upgrade. Not the 76ers

Ok, the 76ers just signed Reggie Jackson and now I'm a tad nervous. It's within the margin of health now. We either need to make a good vet minimum signing or someone needs to improve a lot more than we thought they would (Kornet? Tillman, Shei? Springer? Queta?) The other option is for multiple guys to improve collectively more than we thought they would.

Of that lot im thinking Tillman could make a jump up, b/c he's def going to get a lot of minutes early on with KP out. The Sixers guard depth is good, but I still think they have to be worried about their forward depth.

We just posted one of the great seasons in NBA history, both regular season and playoffs, Brown and Tatum are at the very beginning of their primes and have gotten better every year (and there's no reason to think that won't continue for at least another year), D White has improved every year he's been in Boston as have Pritch and Hauser, and we're sweating the Sixers?
What we need most to repeat is health. If we have that I'm not worried. This team now KNOWS it can win. The pressure is off them and I think they'll be even better.
