I'm curious what ideal traits and physical tools Brad looks for in prospects.
Just looking at JD Davison and Jordan Walsh (I'll throw in Jaden Springer too because Brad commented as young as Springer is he's like a pick in the draft), a common denominator is toughness/grittyness. Maybe another one is athleticism.
I might say defense (Walsh and Springer), but Davison isn't applauded for his defense.
None of those guys came in with sweet shooting ability, and maybe that speaks about how Brad views our developmental coaches' ability to improve shooting.
Versatility?
Ability to dribble adequately?
I don't know about Bball IQ (Springer doesn't seem to have it).

Versatility. AKA swiss army knife type of players that can play multiple positions.

Versatility. AKA swiss army knife type of players that can play multiple positions. Yeah, that's probably a big one for Brad. If you look at majority of the players we currently have, they're all versatile (not necessarily talking about Luke and Queta). Versatile, smart, can shoot, can dribble, can defend, excellent teammate.

Even though we have the Jays, Hauser, and a developing Jordan Walsh on the wings, it wouldn't surprise me if we grab another wing in the draft.
Obviously finding long term replacements for Horford and Jrue will be important, so maybe we see Brad draft a high IQ big or a ball handling, defensive minded, high IQ backcourt player.

I'm guessing with the team as it is now a lot of these picks will be taken pragmatically. We'll need these late picks to try fill rotational holes in the roster, so I'm guessing we'll draft players based on fit more than overall talent. But if there isnt anyone that fits then i can see them taking guys that fit Steven's philosophy.

Just when I think I have Brad figured out, that he likes taller'ish players who can handle the ball, guard multiple positions, and are offensively versatile (Hauser, Walsh, Dalano Banton, Oshae Brissett), I remeber that he's also the same GM that drafted or traded for JD Davison and Jaden Springer (shorter, stockier, not overly equipped offensively).

I'm going to say Brad's type is smart, high character guys, with a team-first attitude and a growth mindset. Of course none of that matters if you don't have at least decent athleticism.
