PP fouled by Jeffries. Jeffries has fouled out. PP at the line. He back rims the first. and second is off the side of the rim. Ball off haywood out of bounds. Celts have it with 37.6 seconds and score tied at 87. Time out called.

Perk just made a play that is a difference between a win and a loss hopefully. Jesus I never want to see Blount again. Hopefully it's not too late.

Delonte passes long to Perk. Ricky front rims a jumper and Jamison rebounds. Wiz call time out with 17.5 seconds on the clock and score tied at 87

Wiz inbound on the side. Ricky on Arenas. Arenas holding and he drives to the basket. Foul called on Ricky as Arenas drives to the basket. 1.7 sec on the clock and Arenas will go to the line. Arenas hits both FT. Boston call 20 second time out with 1.7 on the clock.

Boston inbounds on the side. Scal to PP from the corner and his 3 is no good. Celtics lose by 2 on the last second foul call on Arenas. Another tough loss especially since Doc went away from playing Al and Perk together and went back to Raef and Blount.

My thoughts on the game:
-We CANNOT blame this game on officiating, no way.
We lost the game because of these simple reasons:
HORRID free throw shooting. Pierce was terrible from the line. Not his night. (not the Celtics year)
NO REBOUNDING. I have no freakin idea what the final tally was in terms of rebounding, but we got beat and did not get the ball when we needed to off of misses both offensively and defensively. These were crucial and we failed.
WE CHOKED. We basically lost this game practically by a 10-12 point swing in about 30 seconds of SUCKY play. We couldn't make a basket and we couldn't hold onto the damn ball, and we couldn't stop them. This lost us the entire game.
One thing is for damn sure. NOBODY can blame the choking in the final minutes ALL on the "kids" because although Blunt scored like 10 points, he had a crucial TO that killed us, and Pierce (although he is having a miraculous season) killed us from the lineup making Shaq look like Mark Price.
Another crappy loss we should have won. I'm out.

The Celtics turned in another flat performance tonight. I just don't like the way they are playing right now. Defense has improved but the rebounding continues to be a problem. Perhaps Ainge needs to pull the trigger on the Kandi trade and lets find out if he has any capability. Doc went to Blount looking for answers and to send a message to Perkins and Jefferson. He also brought Raef LaFrentz and Perkins in for the closing seconds. I guess no coach has answers to players who consistently underperform. This is a most discouraging loss because Sacremento is coming to town and so is Ron Artest to kick Pierce's !!!GREENIAC!!!. Then we go to Milwaukee and Minnesota, and I expect a trade announcement sometime this weekend. Playoffs? What Playoffs? We can't do diddly-poo right now!!!!!! We need to focus our anger on the very stupid, selfish play by Pierce who seemingly is shutting out his teammates again. I also notice that the other teams seem more athletic than we are but that is simply better effort........ Pretty disgusting loss and I saw it coming Monday night when we shut ourselves down against the Hornets in the 4th qtr. We fold up like a cheap tent.

He sucked at the foul line, but what 'selfish' play are you talking about?

The truth is P2 writes checks he can't cash. He always is talking..."no one can guard me" bs. Fact - he has never one championship...hs, college (choke), pros. He will always be loser till we trade him.

Not only did we lose the game, but Blount scored enough to give Doc an excuse to play him again. It seems like things go poorly when Raef and Blount are in together; I wish Doc would figure that out.
Very disappointing, especially after such a strong first quarter. We went flat in the second quarter and never recovered. Our veterans are no better than our younger players as far as making clutch plays and avoiding mistakes. Very disappointing.

Yeah, at the start of the game, things were looking pretty good. But as they say, what goes up must come down. We were hitting every outside shot and a team who relies on perimeter shots will also be burned by the perimeter shot. And sure enough, the second quarter rolls along and we only score like 15 pts (38 pts at the half!!).
Pierce had a terrific game (aside from his FT meltdown late in the game). There's a noticeable difference in the Pierce tonight and the Pierce who plays in other games. This is the Pierce I'd hold onto. The other Pierce is the one I'd look to trade. Last night, he was doing a lot of things right. About his FT's, has anyone else noticed that he has altered his stance, which could be the reason why he's struggling (under 80% this season)? He's spreading his legs apart more than he used to, which is causing him to stand flat footed and not getting as much knee bends, which forces him to be flat and push the ball instead of shoot the ball.
Anyways, we could have won the game, but turnovers in the final minutes of the game cost us. Delonte, Blount, and Ricky had costly turnovers in the closing of the game, and of course, Pierce botched his 2 FT attempts. But aside from that, and the lousy 2nd quarter, there were things to be encouraged about. Our defense seems to be improving.
