Wow full season? Seems like it has to be something worse than a consensual situation with a staff member

I'm beginning to think it's far more complicated than what we've been led to believe. I don't think in 2022 you do this with one of the best coaches in the league after a finals season for just what they're saying. I think some lawyers are advising them. I think you might never hear from the Celtics or Ime on this. Team rules. The end. I have to imagine some lawyers are working overtime right now on this. NDAs.
If it's THAT bad just fire him and move on. If it's not don't act like this.

Apparently the team is holding off on saying whether he'll ever be back, and that that will be determined later.

Joe Mazzulla will be taking over in the interim. He's been an assistant with Boston since 2019 under both Brad and Ime, and Ainge interviewed him for the Utah head coaching position. I can't remember a comparable situation for an incoming rookie head coach - filling in for a previously highly-respected guy who may or may not be back, on a team with legit title hopes.

Well, this definitely made my top [HASH]5 shocking C's events ever. I could not make this stuff up if I tried. Anyway, the internet has run wild with speculation. I will let the facts speak for themselves before speculating, however this season might be over before it started.
1. Gallo - done for the year. 2. Ime - done for the year. 3. RW3 - out 8-12 weeks.

I don't think Ime will ever be back. It was originally reported that the relationship was consensual but now it's being reported that the woman reported that Ime continued to make unwanted comments to her.
“Some members of the Celtics organization first became aware of the relationship in July, sources said,” Charania wrote (in The Athletic). “At that time, team leadership was led to believe by both parties that the relationship was consensual. But sources said that the woman recently accused Udoka of making unwanted comments toward her — leading the team to launch a set of internal interviews.”
Not good. If it were completely consensual I'd see it as a lapse in judgement. If it wasn't I'd see it as a lack of character.

I do not believe the rumors reported add up. There is something more that BOS would hire a law firm to independently investigate, then BOS chose to suspend their coach for 1-year before a league investigation.

Matt Barnes originally said he thought the punishment was too much and was supporting Udoka. The next day after talking with someone who knew all the facts, he changed his mind and said this: “And, after finding out all the facts, after I spoke, I erased what I posted because this situation in Boston is deep. It’s messy. It’s 100 times uglier than any of us thought. And, that’s why I erased what I said.”
So, there are a lot of facts that none of us know and may never know. I'm going to take Wyc and Brad's word that the suspension is warranted and the right thing to do and go from there. I know they wouldn't have done this, especially just before training camp if it wasn't warranted.
It's just very sad that Ime was such a good coach and the players respected him. He worked so hard to get a head coaching job and then blew it by breaking rules and not being concerned about the consequences. Personally, I can't see him effectively coaching the Celtics again because how can the players respect him again after he failed them all by breaking the rules and putting them in this situation. I just can't see him coaching again, especially if it is 100 times uglier than is being reported.
We may never know the whole story, but I don't think we need to. Ime was selfish and did what he wanted regardless of the rules and regardless of how it would affect his team and his players.

I agree, FL, that he won't be back as coach if in fact what happened was as bad as Barnes indicates. I also agree that we'll probably never know the whole truth.

I think the truth will eventually prevail, because the issue is legal.
