Clippers are said to be shopping Luke Kennard. He led the league in 3 pt shooting percentage last year at 44.9%, and shot 44.6% the year before, so it was no fluke. He turned 26 today, has two years left plus a team option for a third and his salary of $13.7 mil fits into the traded player exception we have. Any interest? Well, Ime says scoring off the bench was a problem, and he's looking for veteran scorers. He didn't say anything about that veteran scorer needing to be a good defender, so that leaves the door open for Luke Kennard.

We are expected to have interest in Nic Batum. I can't believe he's only 33! Seems like he's been in the league for over 2 decades.
But really, at 6'8" and revitalizing his career with the Clippers the last two years (shot 40% from 3 the last 2 years, on 4 attempts per game), I'd have interest in him.

Are the Wizards making the wisest move?
Paying a non All-NBA player so much money with no guarantee that this team will even make the playoffs?
Wouldn't it be better to tank and start all over?

I think as long as he stays healthy he's a very big trade chip. so i can't blame them if they want to give him and prisnaps a year together to see if they can make that work.

No. They're not. It's the next in a long line of dumb Washington moves. Gilbert Arenas? Remember they doled out like 100 mill each for Chris Webber and Juwan Howard? Actually I don't think that was too horrid, but still.

No big free agent will want to come to D.C.. Well, actually, maybe Durant could force his way there if he wants to play near home. Tjey need to be bottom dwellers for a while, and infuse high end young talent. Move Beal for picks and expiring contracts.

I think I'm slightly higher on the Wiz than y'all are. I think Kuzma, Krisnaps and Gifford are a fine 4/5 big man combo. Krispert (sp?) really came alive last year after the all-star break. Dude is a sniper. Hachimura is a solid rotation guy if he can get his mental health in check. KCP is a very good 3+D shooting guard. Beal obv is a star. They really need a PG or a combo guard to help keep the ship going forward. Honestly they should really make a push for Wall if he gets released by Houston. I don't think they are ready to compete for a title, but i think there's enough there that they shouldn't full rebuild yet. I don't think there's a lot of difference as to where washington is versus where boston was in the 2004-2007 era. And I'm def glad we didn't move Pierce when we had the chance back then.

I don't think the Wiz really had a choice. Not signing Beal is a poor choice when you can sign him and then still move on from him later to get assets. Yes, there's risk Beal drops off and then you're stuck with that contract, but he's 28 and hasn't, as far as I know, shown any red flags - so I think he'll be fine. They went 35-47 with Beal playing about half the season. Interested to see what Beal healthy and Porzingis can do - they won't be breaking through the contenders in the East (Bucks, Sixers, Heat, Celtics) but they won't be irrelevant at least.

That team, if it all clicks, is good enough to make a playoff appearance -- and get ousted early. No real threat to do anything, just br a 7th or 8th best team in the East.

Kyrie is opting in, collecting his $37M, and will run it back with KD (and we'll see if Ben Simmons wants to play this year).
John Wall will be bought out, and will sign the MLE with the Clippers. Fresh, there goes your hope for Wall here in BOS.

There's talk that Detroit may cut the recently acquired Alec Burks. I def wouldn't mind seeing him join the guard rotation.

C'mon, Brad -- we were in the Finals and you saw what we needed -- now go out and make sure we don't leave empty handed next year.

If his defense is at least average i think he'd be a great fit. He was always a solid slasher and distributor for a SG, but i had no idea he had improved so much as a 3pt shooter. over 40% the last two seasons. I'd be thrilled to get him for the vet min.
