We won't win a 3 point shooting contest against Curry.
I cringed watching them brick 3s in the final 5 minutes and when only down 3 especially that one possession Smart thought would be great to shoot 2 threes. Really unsure why they abandon other shots/drives when it matters most.
Thought we would lose tonight, but it still stings when it was there for the taking

I'm very concerned that the Warriors have figured out to move Draymond to a 6th man role. I guess maybe you move D White into the starting lineup and take Al out.

When the game gets tight Curry just gets better and better. We don't have anyone like that.

This game shows how in basketball, it's tough to win if the other team has the best player.

Jaylen had a brutal fourth quarter. We need him to close out strong in these games.

Ok, got my mind off of basketball for a few hours.
We're still in great shape. Nobody on our side had a great game. Our defense wasn't crisp. Our offense was stagnant.
And still it took Curry's herculian effort for GSW to win this game (the final score doesn't reflect how close this was).

We're still in it for sure, but once again, in the final minutes we struggled to get good shots.
One stat that stands out is that we got out-rebounded by 13.

I just rewatched the 4th qtr, and my conclusion is that more than anything else, they made shots and we didn't. Jaylen had a couple of turnovers, but mostly we just missed makeable shots while GS made theirs. I'm not even sure GS got better shots than us, but they don't have to when they have Curry.

We need one more good shot creator -- one who can be relied on not to shrink under the situation (Tatum and Jaylen couldn't do it last night, and at other times as well).

Jaylen had a couple of turnovers, but mostly we just missed makeable shots while GS made theirs. I'm not even sure GS got better shots than us, but they don't have to when they have Curry. For sure we got open 3s - but, at some point, trying to finish at the hole when you got the other team in the penalty and have the lead is a better quality shot than a kick-out for 3 every possession. I'm all for living & dying by the 3, but at some point I'd hope even the analytics might take into account the difference in nailing a good look from 3 in the tightness of the end of game versus going strong to the basket. This was our play-by-play with 5 minutes to go in the 4th (and up 4) - Brown missed 2-pointer - Brown missed 3-pointer - Celtics Timeout - Tatum missed 3-pointer - Smart missed 3-pointer - Offensive Rebound - Smart missed 3-pointer - Horford missed 3-pointer - Timeout Now, we're down 6 - Horford makes 3 pointer - Brown TO - White missed 3-pointer Game over. 7 straight 3s (1/7). I guess we were taking what they gave us, but this seems too familiar a story with this team. I do think Tatum struggling to finish 2 pointers this series as affected our offense too - he's having a pretty bad series in terms of efficiency. If I look at the same timeline for the Warriors - Poole missed layup - Offensive Rebound - Wiggins makes 2-pointer - Klay makes 3-pointer - Curry makes 2-pointer (floater) - Curry misses 2-pointer - Looney TO - Curry makes 3-pointer - Klay misses 3-pointer - Offensive Rebound - Looney makes 2-pointer (layup) - Curry free throws I find interesting the variety of ways they scored when it mattered most by a seasoned finals team. Part of that is our guys don't have some of the nice finishes around the rim (floaters - Curry), they got 2 offensive rebounds to our 1, and our best player has been struggling to hit his midrange/step-backs (Tatum). Again, as Fresh put it, it could be summarized simply as hard to win when you don't have the best player on the court.

Tatum needs to attack and shoulder the offense in tight games. If his 3 is not falling, and the paint is blocked off, he needs to do pullups from 15 feet.
