The Sixers traded for Harden, and though on paper a team of Embiid and Harden appear formidable, they're potentially sitting on a ticking time bomb.
Embiid has dodged the injury bullet so far, but he's not getting younger and that foot issue could resurface at any moment. And if Harden, who's 32 years old, loses a step and loses his shiftiness, he becomes guardable.
They've already lost Ben Simmons, and Matisse Thybule and Tyrese Maxey are not franchise players.
The Sixers window is going to close quickly. And then they're back to rebuild mode.

It's definitely a gamble. But if those two can stay healthy and go on a run they could win it all. But like you said, with Harden, there window is not huge. But Simmons put them in a terrible spot. I guess instead of getting back a bunch of 'meh' players they decided to shoot their shot and get the best player on the market.

Harden looked good in his first game and I get Philly's logic..sell the farm for a ring. I'd almost argue that the level of talent in today's NBA means that more teams have a chance to win and it removes some of those dynasty runs. Sure you could get some powerhouse teams but I'm hoping the NBA continues to make it harder for that to happen. I'd love to see more teams celebrating championships like the MLB.

Everything involving Ben Simmons is just head scratching.

Everything involving Ben Simmons is just head scratching. Yeah at this point, you gotta wonder what the Nets will look like next season. I actually see them getting worse.. because I don't think they can afford Bruce Brown. Durant, Kyrie and Ben sucks up all their cap. There are guys they will not be able to re-sign and you gotta think that Brown will surely attract a salary around the 15-18 mil per year range from teams like the Pacers who want to build next to Haliburton. Or the Pistons who want to give more help to Cade. Both those teams have plenty of cap space.

BRK is a hodge podge of questionable characters. They could just as easily self implode on each other as win it all.
