How was the effort and energy level? Did it improve from Friday night?

ricky misses a 3 pointer and West rebounds. Delonte is fouled shooting a 3 and will go to the line for 3. Delonte hits all 3 FTs. Hamilton is fouled by Greene as he catches the inbounds pass. he hits both FTs. Celts take it the lengthe of the floor and PP misses a 3. Ben W rebounds and is fouled on the rebound. First bounced around the rim and in. 2nd rolls off and Perk rebounds. Greene misses a 3 pointer at the buzzer. Pistons win 94-84.
Ricky had ZERO points. To his credit, he only took 8 shots and didn't keep shooting when all his shots were short. I think he is exhausted from 57 minutes last game and averaging over 40 a game. He wasn't getting good looks and he didn't have his legs and didn't force it. Al played good when he was in and finished with 8 points and 7 rebounds in almost 8 minutes. Perk was great tonight with 10 points and 7 rebounds in 28 minutes. West had 20 points and 7 rebounds for another solid game. We hung with them and didn't get blown out so I guess that is good. Still, it sure would be good to win some of these games!!!!

How was the effort and energy level? Did it improve from Friday night? Overall, the effort and energy level was good. Ricky wasn't himself tonight and seemed to lag behind most of the game. he is usually our biggest energy player and just didn't seem to have it right from the beginning, and yet played 42 minutes. Perk and Al looked good tonight. Perk got 28 minutes and Al 18 but they were both hustling out there. We played pretty good defense over all but went short stretches where everyone looked lost and scattered. They played hard tonight with the exception of Ricky who, like I said, seemed to be a step behind all night on both offense and defense.

Thanks for the play by play, FL12. I wasn't able to watch the game today and I didn't set my VCR to record the game at home, so I am relying on your game calling to see the game. I think you should apply for color analyst because once Tommy and/or Gorman retire, we'll need someone to replace them.
Well, like most games, we do well enough in the 1st half to be encouraged, but blow it in the second half. Granted, this is one of the best teams in the league and beating them was not going to be a walk in the park.
Goodness, Delonte is as solid as a rock. 20 pts and 7 rebs (only assists, though) is like becoming the norm for him. Lucky for us that we have such a strong rebounding PG to make up for the deficiency caused by Mark Blount, who only had 3 rebounds in 30 minutes tonight (not to throw salt on the wound, but he had more turnovers than rebounds: 3 - 4).
Doc needs to do Ricky a favor and bench him for one game. He needs to get some rest and let his legs get back to strength. All these minutes are just wearing him out, despite what he may tell us. A tired Ricky who can't use his energy to play defense or work his offense, is worthless to us.

If Doc keeps playing Ricky all of these minutes, he is going to ruin him for the season.
btw Derren, I didn't watch this game on tv today. I was at work...and we STILL lost.
I don't know. Go figure...

Watching Ricky tonight his legs just weren't there. His shots were all short or off the front rim. On defense he was a step behind the whole game and just didn't have his usual energy. Either he is wearing down or he is sick. Either way, Doc playing him 44 minutes when he wasn't effective on either offense or defense was terrible. He needs some rest.

Another loss. Doc, as I said before, can't be playing P2 and RD 40 minutes a night. Besides, DET did just enough to win.
