Smart hasn’t taken shots tonight (only 3 thus far). With us blowing the lead and barely hanging on, I wonder if old Marcus is going to rear his head?

Tacko should be opposing the inbounds pass

I just wish to point out Tommy's handprints were allllllll OVER this game. For the first time in forever we actually got calls. 4 offensive fouls against the MVP? A ridiculous 3 point bank at the end over the Defensive Player of the Year? A missed free throw to end the game by the MVP? Cmon. Tommy handed this to us.

Heckuva game from an entertainment standpoint. Lucky to win though, between Tatum's unintentional banked in 3, and Giannis's choke on the final FT. We have to stop blowing big fourth quarter leads.
Overall, pretty happy with the fact that everyone who played contributed something.
Interesting to see Brad playing TT and Theis together. With them and Tatum out there we're suddenly no longer small. I like it.
Most interesting stat in the box score is the +- for GWill (-19) and Semi (+20).
I thought Brown and Teague were our best players. I LOVE when JB is aggressive. Smart contributed with great D on Giannis and only taking 3 shots.

So many positives from this game.
Tatum and Jaylen absolutely took reins of this team. Don’t have Hayward anymore, and we’ll be without Kemba for a while, but they were more than up to the challenge of being the studs of the Celtics (and don’t forget, they’re only 24 and 22!!).
Teague and Thompson are excellent additions!
Smart has looked to pass more than score, which is a huge plus!
Maybe Semi will bring something to the party thisn year!
GWill is going to be a big contributor, no doubt about that. And when he does, it’ll just make us even that mich better.
We haven’t even gotten contributions from Nesmith and Pritch yet. What does it tell us when Brad plays the rookie Pritch ahead of Tremont Waters? That Pritch is already earning Brad’s trust! This kid is a gamer.
Wait till Nesmith starts contributing.
Wait till Romeo is back olaying (Brad likes him too).
Wait till Kemba comes back!!

What’s more impressive about Tatum tonight is that late in the game, he had to score while Giannis was guarding him! That near 7 footer with a twenty foot wingspan who moves like a guard is darn challenging to score on — but Tatum found ways.
And unbelievable that Tatum didn’t even get to the line once!

Anyone else reminded of the time Antoine beat the Lakers from a similar spot on a banked in 3? (about 1:30 into the video)

I've said this before, but Giannis, much of the time, just runs right through people on his way to the hoop. In this game he got called for 4! offensive fouls, several of them created by Smart. As talented as Giannis is, if he can't use those giant strides to step around you, he doesn't really have many moves. Smart's reputation as a defender probably helps him get some charge calls that maybe some other guys don't.

Agreed jmost. Good defenders can slow him down by getting set in the paint. Giannis needs to work on that turnaround jumper. He hit a few in this game, but it's still a little shaky. If he ever gets that down, he's gonna be tough to stop.
