I'm just not seeing it with Grant Williams, and I rarely have Late in the game, he had to switch onto Maxie, and to keep from getting blown by, GWill was backpeddling — which isn’t bad becauseTyrese is a downhill player. But he gave too much cusion, allowing Maxie to get off easy floaters (which he’s excellent at). GWill has got to remember this next time we play Philly and has to switch on Maxie — don’t give too much cushion. On second look, I bet Brad wanted GWill to work on not getting in foul trouble. GWill seemed to avoid contact a bit much, like it was purposefully done. We were short handed tonight at the bigs, with Theis and Thompson out.

My observation on Tacko is that he is a guy that when the other team is cruising you can put him in and the other team will have to figure it out. It may take 5 or 7 minutes, then when they figure it out, take him out. But he won't ever be a good NBA shooter, passer, ball handler, or pass catcher. He can only really do two or three things, and I just don't see that changing.

He needs to understand his limitations. Like when he makes a steal at midcourt, don't try to dribble down the court! Tacko can rebound a little, score when inside 5 feet, and block some shots. Not sure about anything else. I still think he's too slow for the NBA game. Maybe he has some usefulness on quarter-ending out of bounds plays, either to catch and dunk, or to deny passes.

I was hoping he became more like Boban Marjanović providing a good 10-15 minutes of some big man support. As stated, he too slow for today's game which make him a big liability when he can only play in the paint.

Just some observations from this preseason:
- After the Jay's, this team need a 3rd scoring option to pickup the slack especially when they're not playing well. Kemba should pick up the slack in those scenarios but, they need scoring to come from their 7th to 10th player. Right now, there isn't any enough guys that can score outside potentially with the rookies.
- Celtics need TT/Theis to be more healthy. If they depend on RWILL (inconsistent) or Tacko (unplayable) for significant minutes it'll be a long night for them. Embiid abuse them for most of the first half as expected.
- Pritchard look better than advertise. He has complete different motor than the rest of the young guns that can't be taught. I'm hoping he build off that confidence as we do need someone who can lead the bench and provide scoring outside of Jeff Teague
- Neismith need time to help with development. He did make some good plays outside hitting a three so I suspect later on the season he'll become more part of the rotation especially when he start learning the system better.
- GWILL need to provide more impact at the forward spot. Not confident he'll give enough production off the bench forcing Tatum to eat more minutes. I know it's one pre-season but, he need to be more of a veteran presence otherwise, Ainge need to re-think on adding more vets at the forward spot
- Edwards/Waters/Semi do not seem adequate enough to be on a NBA roster. Hopefully they pick it up but, I think front-office really need to re-evaluate importance of getting vets with specific roles rather than rookies trying to be more than what they are.

Agreed with everything you said there, JHVOS.
Kemba may not be healthy enough to be our 3rd high powered scorer — but thinking long term, we’ll need to find a 3rd big time player anyways. Will Ainge trade for one?

While we have several guys who are capable of averaging in the low double figures (Teague and TT did so last year), IMO the only ones other than JT and JB with even the potential to be big time scorers are Romeo and Nesmith, but it's probably unrealistic to expect that from them this year. I think Danny will wait to see what we need most and use the trade exception there. Maybe he'll go out and get us a scorer like Olidipo.

Oladipo makes sense to me; expiring contract, unhappy (supposedly), still relatively young, was a rising star pre-injury.

Will Ainge trade for one? Ultimately, they'll want to use the TPE to get some premier talent. Question is do you wait till Free Agency to use the full $28.5 mill TPE or use $21.8 mil between now and the trading deadline? Depending on how much you want to commit, I do see some challenges on adding too much salary especially if they plan on maintaining Marcus Smart after 2022 season. Not sure what his value is going to be on the open market but, I'm sure it'll be alot more than what he's receiving right now.

Depends. Do we have a “wink wink” agreement with an upcoming free agent? Then we can wait till the offseason.
Interesting what Tristan Thompson revealed in his interview. Said he knew Ainge had interest in him for a while. I think there was a mutual agreement in place before free agency started and that’s why Ainge did not want to receive Myles Turner in the IND trade proposal.
So Ainge probably has an idea who he has a shot of getting (maybe even getting a committment), and those he’s not sure of.
Maybe Oladipo is a guy in the fold, either by trade or free agency.
