Ok, one of the most difficult names to pronounce in this year’s draft belongs to Sandro Mamukelashvili! He’s a 6’11” SF/PF who has deceptive quickness, solid ball handling, good passing vision and he can post up, drive to the basket and finish, draw fouls, and hit three’s. His drawbacks are, he’s a senior (which is really not a bad thing) and his defense may not he all that great. m.youtube.com/watch?v=ZaHITQPKaZwI was watching some vids of him a couple nights ago. Def will have to play a lot of C in the NBA. He's maaaybe athletic enough to play the 4 in the pros, but quicker 4s would eat him for lunch. Love that stroke, dude moves well for a big. good hands. He may be worth a late round flyer, could maybe make for a solid big off the bench.

Here’s another name to keep in mind for later in the draft Davion Mitchell from Baylor. Reminds me of Kemba — not as elite offensively, but way better defensively. m.youtube.com/watch?v=cG1y-FZC320

Day’Ron Sharpe, 6’11” UNC
Keep tabs on this big young kid. He’s Tristan Thompson with more close space quickness. Fast reactions and strong hands. Needs polish, but he has an idea of what he wants to do (just needs to slow down more).
*update, 1/9 Day’Ron continues to impress me. Reminds me so much of a bigger (height and build) Robert Williams. Has that quick area burst, cat-like reflexes, instincts for the ball. But he’s a bit more offensive minded. He’s averaging 3+ blocks and 2+ steals. This kid is very active.

David Johnson is a 6’5” scoring PG for Louiseville. He’s a soph who came on strong last year. Similar to Jordan Nwora in that they’re big PG’s who handle the ball well and are more scorers than distributors — but David is a bit faster, a bit more athletic and explosive. He has a higher ceiling than Nwora.

James Bouknight follows Kemba Walker and Shabazz Napier as UCONN’s dynamic scoring PG’s. He’s got better height than the other two (looks to be 6’4”). A smooth scorer. He’s been pretty good this year as a soph. Might be a first round talent.

Duane Washington is a good looking junior prospect from Ohio State. 6’3” SG equipped with a quick trigger. Can catch and shoot really well.

m.youtube.com/watch?v=XutaS2891nAI’ll be very happy to get Wagner with our late first rounder. Franz Wagner is a 6’9” 220lb Forward for the Michigan Wolverines. Brother of Mo Wagner, Franz is not as maniacal as his older brother (and an inch or two shorter), but just impactful. What stands out about Franz is his feel for the game. Call it basketball IQ, call it smarts, Franz is just aware of where the ball is going, where he needs to be, who he ought to pass to, when he ought to be aggressive, etc. He anticipates really well and makes excellent decisions. Not gifted with high level athleticism, Franz relies on his awareness and arm length to steal passes and block shots. He passes really well, and has the court vision to thread needles. Can shoot it from deep, and also put the ball on the floor and attack closeouts. He’s a complete player without being great at anything, or having great physical attributes — that’ll be what keeps him from being a star. But with his work ethic, he should have a shot at being plugged into the starting PF or Small Ball Center position for a team who has a vacancy on their roster.

It’s not like we need another 6’6” wing, but if we do I have no qualms with taking Chris Duarte from Oregon (Pritch’s former running mate). This kid is a natural, the kind of player who plays the game so well you imagine that’s all he does and wants to do.
He’s like Romeo Langford, except a tad more decisive and a better outside shooter.

Keon Johnson, 6’6” wing from TENN might be my favorite player not currently projected to go in the top 7. He could turn out to be the best player in this draft class.
Has the ideal physique for a 2guard (ala Jordan, Kobe, Vince), and I like his shooting form.
Handles are solid, knows what to do with the ball in his hands, gets to the line. Aggressive but not overly.

I would like to see two old school players get more chances: John Harrar of Penn State and the Iowa big. Luke Garza. I don't think they're as slow as people say. The quote on Harrar is "Looks like a Marine and plays like a Marine." I saw him stay with a guard the other day. I would compare these guys to Tyler Hansbrough. I realize in today's game a guy like that is at the end of the bench but you still have to have them. I think they should at least get to show what they have at combines.

I’ll hqve to check out Harrar. Garza I looked at often, and not too high on. He is slow footed, and his offense revolves around his ability to absorb contact and still get up his shot (not like a skilled low post technician who has a vast array of moves). I like that he can shoot the threes and FTs.

Harrar is a guy who has gotten better every year. He's tough. He hasn't done a lot of shooting, but he's not supposed to because PSU has a ton of shooters. PSU has very good defense and he's a huge part of that with some active hands.
I just think he should get a try out. I don't even think he's a great G League guy. But he should get a chance and not be automatically dismissed. He actually is considered a guy who might have an NFL future.

I’m warming up to Garza — reason why is because he’s physically reminds me of Nikola Jokic, who just poured 43 pts on us. Being slow footed and lacking explosiveness has not deterred Jokic one iota from being an offensive weapon. Maybe Garza can find success too. m.youtube.com/watch?v=yF7-w5e7VHI

Not sure why Charles Bassey has not garnered more interest as a first rounder (even lottery). Great body, size, strength, agility, skills, and motor as a legit Center (good wingspan to boot). Can hit free throws and has decent range out to the perimeter too.
But yet I see him usually mocked in the second round. I don't get it. I must be missing something.
If I'm the GM, he's in the debate for the 16th pick.
