5 points up. Raptors ball with 7.9 seconds left. I wanna see the miracle that bails them outta this. It would need to be a Reggie Miller thing

I think we've seen the extent of Brad Steven's coaching. He's a good coach. He's not a great one. But he can get better

Smart made some wonderful plays to save us (that block on Powell at the end) and our defense was great. I am a little concerned with how we always seem to limp to the finish line with leads in crunch time. Our offense just stops all motion and goes to Tatum and Kemba ISOs even though I thought we were consistently getting good looks all game long. Crazy to think Tatum and Brown will have already been to two ECFs and they're so young. This bodes well for us going forward and imagine if Hayward can recover...

I'm not sure I enjoyed that game at all. Too damn nervous. Man, that was an intense series. TOR is tough. Every time I thought they were dead they came back. I know Miami is playing well, but they can't be any tougher competitors than the Raptors were.
I think I'm more relieved that we didn't lose a series we should have won than anything. A thought that occured to me is that this series was like the Celtics/Pistons of 1987, when we were the champs and beat the Pistons even though DET might have had the better team (partly because we were injured). The Pistons had to learn how to win close games against the champs (us). This time we were the young team going against the champs and I wasn't sure we had the right stuff if it got close at the end. Sure glad we did though!

What a game. Smart's block and Tatum's offensive rebound were so big. Toronto played out of their minds. They're a fun team to watch, and I can imagine a fun team to root for. Brown did a masterful job on Siakam. Bring on the Heat!

That ISO ball at the end has been going on for years and I don't understand it either, runrondo. We preach ball movement all season long and then at crunch time we go ISO. I can understand it when taking the last shot of a quarter because it minimizes the risk of deflections/steals, but as a mainstay of the offense for several minutes? That would be a great question for someone to ask Brad.

At the ends of big games it seems to me Jordan and Kobe definitely went iso. However, to be fair Jordan found open guys at the end, right? I kinda forget but there was Paxson once I think. Steve Kerr once

Was anyone wearing "green" gear for the game? Had to don my 2008 World Championship t-shirt, the one with a solid hole in the armpit!
Comments: 1. Smart - I can live with his ill-advised shots. Total package. 2. Tatum - he made some "Carmelo" like shots, which I didn't think had a pray to go in, but did. 3. Brown - every year, he brings new facet to his game; I want to see a consistent 3-point shot. 4. Theis - best value contract (non-rookie) in the NBA; $5m. 5. Walker - I wouldn't put much stock in this series, because TOR box & 1 defense limited his production. 6. Stevens - def a top 8 coach; probably a top 4; does his best with less however BOS has more now. 7. Ainge - top 3 GM; every move he made there was a calculated risk.
note - TOR was a very, very good opponent. Coach Nick Nurse, whining and all, is an excellent coach.

That would be a great question for someone to ask Brad. It's possible if someone where to really analyze it, it might make more sense to limit the pressure onto one player who can handle it. Limits the failure of the execution of a play (less hands touching it, turnovers, etc). However, clearly Tatum is not quite there yet to warrant that efficiency (he's not Kobe or Jordan at this point, but he clearly wants to be which isn't a bad thing) not to mention if we're executing successfully all game long I'd bet money we could do it when it counts too. Tatum seems to always take that step back 3 which is kind of frustrating. I don't mind the Kemba mid range as much if he's able to weave his way to get some space considering his efficiency but his size makes it tough sometimes if a defense can key on it. I just like our offense so much when we have our guys all involved and so many options (+Hayward).

Awe-some. I have the C's PJs too, however I went to my folks house to watch the game, and didn't want my father to give me snarky looks.
