Right now, we have Kemba locked down for 3 more years, and we’re pretty sure he’s going to be good during this time. But we also know that Kemba doesn’t fit in with the Jay-Team timeline, as he is nearing 30, and Tatum and Jaylen are in their very early twenties.
I’d think that getting (drafting) a PG who can be another building piece of the puzzle is what we ought to be aiming for.
We’re set at the wings with Tatum, Jaylen and even Romeo Langford. With less emphasis on bigs, I think we’re good with Grant and Robert Williams.
At the Point, we have Tremont Waters and Carsen Edwards (and he’s really not a Point). I like Tremont, but question if he’ll impact enough as a starter.
I’d be highly surprised if Tyrese Halliburton is there at 17, but he’s a guy I think makes so much sense in Brad’s system. 2 guys who I think are viable options at 17 are Theo Maledon and Tyrell Terry (Terry i’m pretty sure will be available there, if not late 1st round). Smart, competitive kids who are well rounded PGs and display lots of positive traits.
Maybe it may not be either one of them, but locking down a Point should be the goal with one of our 3 first round licks (if we decide to keep them all).

I think it's either a PG or a big. But if there is a swing with huge upside, i'm willing to see them roll the dice.

There are some intriguing wings that I’d think could help us, but I’m trying to figure out if they have a ceiling higher than Jaylen’s and Romeo’s. I would say big because we have Smart for a while and he's a pretty competent backup.

One mock had us taking Theo Maledon, Kira Lewis and Xavier Tillman with our 3 first rounders. I’d be more than happy with this outcome👍

More and more I feel that we need to find our future starting PG in this draft.
Don’t need to be a great playmaker, since Tatum and Jaylen will take care of most of that (and Brad’s offense helps generate offense). More importantly, knock down jumpers efficiently.
These are the guys who might fit the bill, who could be available at our picks:
Tyrell Terry Theo Maledon Kira Lewis Markus Howard Grant Riller
These latter 2 guys have put up very good shooting numbers all 4 years of their college careers, which is a good indicator. Tyrell Terry put up fantastic numbers this year as a freshman.

Not necessarily pinpointing a position, but we need good (pure) shooters.
Give me Markus Howard. This kid is a lights out pure shooter with a quick trigger. Under 6 feet, but I’d take him over Carsen Edwards right now.

What about Aaron Nesmith? Best shooter in the draft? Not exactly a position of need, but elite at one skill. If we believe JT and JB are going to continue to develop, defenses are going to have to devote more and more attention to them and a guy who can hit the open shot would be very valuable. We saw how Duncan Robinson can keep the lane open because we were afraid to leave him alone for a 3. I think I'd rather pick a guy who was great at one thing than another guy who was "solid" like Grant Williams.
I agree that we need a young PG and more quality bigs though.

Aaron Nesmith was on his way to having a spectacular college season before he got hurt. Good frame for a swing, and yeah his shooting is desirable 👍 Conflicting reports of his defense is what I want to investigate. If he’s a 3-D player, he’s definitely on my radar. If he’ll be a liability, then I don’t use the 14th on him.

I honestly believe we could use help everywhere. Truly a draft where i'd take BPA.
